We recently stayed for 7 nights at the resort and while they were repairing it due to flooding earlier in the year, you didnt really hear the noise too much. We had great views to the beach and straight opposite surfclub. The pools were great and underused by others that were staying there. Often we were the only ones in the pools which were used a minimum of once a day. The lagoon pool down the waterslide are not heated so if you were brave (like us) it was very refreshing!. There is a bus stop right outside the resort and shops to both sides for all your little needs. While the rooms werent the most modern they were sufficient to our needs.

My husband & I recently stayed with our two daughters on a family vacation. We found the resort to be very clean & tidy, most certainly nothing short of what we were expecting. Friendly staff to help us with any enquiries we needed & a great recommendation of the local restaurants.
The pools look very beautiful at night & the best hit in the colder weather was the heated pool & spa of a night to relax in.
The rooms were a little dated, and we did have a problem on the last night with people staying in the room above us stomping & banging around until after midnight, but apart from the normal little things you always find when never in your own home, we absolutely loved staying here and are now hoping we can organise another visit in the near future with our extended family also.
Cheap $$$ for such a great spot!!!

This was a fantastic hotel complex. All apartments face a meandering pool and the lower level apartments are swim up.
i emailed them a month before to see if we could get a swim up apartment as my partner has an artificial limb(leg) and they were very happy to oblige even though it was over the Christmas New Year travel period.

Room Tip: If you are only a couple see if you can get a swim up apartment this means you can ly on your balcon...

We spent 9 days a Breakfree Alexandra Beach in July 2012 with two children aged 9 and 11. We found the rooms to be comfortable, well equipped and adequate for our needs. As many of the previous entries have mentioned the rooms are a little dated and not in pristine condition, however, this has to be balanced with the resonable cost. During our stay the ground floor rooms were being refurbished, apparentely as a result of flood damage? I would suggest requesting one of these rooms when the work has been completed if you are thinking of staying here. The location was good. Over the road was a patrolled beach and surf club, Mooloolaba was a 10 minute walk away. The great attraction for our kids was the pool complex. It was too cold in July for the lagoon pool but we couldn't get our kids away from the smaller heated pool and the spa pool. I can recommend the Pizza from the shop directly outside the complex, very tasty and good value. One grizzle is the high price of wireless internet access, $25 per day. I really think this is pretty pricey and should be looked at. Overall, a well priced hotel for those not looking for luxury accommodation.

Dear walts1,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us and the TripAdvisor community; it is always pleasing to read great feedback.

The work on the ground floor units is expected to be completed prior to Christmas, following a once in a 100 years storm event during March 2012. In addition, the Gym has also been completely upgraded and has a new treadmill and multi-station for guest use.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to returning.

We went to Alex-beach last year and enjoyed it, so went back the 2nd week of June this year.
We also took our 19yr old son and his friend. They enjoyed what the area had to offer as much as my Husband and I did.We hired a car this time as it was cheaper than a shuttle for 4 and we had a great day trip to Dreamworld/surfers, also a trip to Noosa and some good retail at Marochydore .
The unit we stayed in overlooked the beach and the traffic- which our lads enjoyed watching and a surf club we ate at and the lads drank at!Our unit was well laid out, clean and had nice furniture.
The only disapointment was the lack of internet and a gym and a pool/spa not working, these things our lads missed maybe more than we did though.

Room Tip: Our room was booked through a holiday club and was very good quality. The rooms at the back are of...

We were attending a function at the Alex Surf Club directly opposite so this resort was ideal location for us. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was in a block over the underground secure parking but away from the pool. The door opened into a full self contained kitchen / dining / lounge with large flat screen TV. A bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and basin. Along the back wall of the bathroom was a laundry behind bifold doors. Off the lounge was a (just big enough) bedroom with queen bed and robe. Upstairs is the second larger bedroom with ensuite.

It was cold over our 2 days so the reverse cycle air-con warmed us. And obviously we didn't use the pool but it did look amazing. Minimal toiletries are provided. As this is an apartment there is no daily servicing.

The accommodation was adequate for our needs and I can imagine if the weather was finer we would have explored the facilities in a different light.

The restaurant attached to the resort serves an amazing breakfast with the biggest serves and great coffee.

Overall good value for the money we spent.

My wife and I stayed here from the 12th-15th June. We found the offer on the internet and were concerned "if it is too good to be true, it will probably be as feared". No such worries, beaut spacious apartment, secure parking, quiet and clean. Not perhaps as modern as some, but all the goodies, heated pools, security, surf club across the road. In the room everything, washing machine, microwave, etc, friendly helpful staff. Don't miss the Barra and chips at the shop just outside. An absolute bargain, exactly as represented.
