We went on Terry's excellent Zipline adventure on March 4 and it was absolutely fantastico!

Terry's very friendly staff picked us up at El Portillo Hotel and we rode in the back of an open air truck to Samana. Winding up and over the mountain range on a smooth paved road provided many very scenic vistas of the lush vegetation of the rugged Samana peninsula.

We arrived at the Walk the Plank zipline adventure via a gravel road complete with fire hydrants in case someone ever builds a house on the isolated road.

Walk the Plank Zipline Adventure was incredible! We only had to walk about 100 metres up a
gravel path to reach the summit .That was the only part of the adventure that required any climbing as it was all downhill fun after that initial climb. Now let the games begin!

There are 12 exhilarating zip rides that criss cross over a huge valley down to the river below.
The scenery is amazing as you zip across the valley, each ride bringing you progressively closer to the valley floor. The best part is you can ride hands free, spin around and go upside down as you rip across the jungle to the next platform where expert staff apply the brake to rapidly, but smoothly halt your descent. You simply enjoy the ride and there are no worries about when to apply the brakes with your leather gloved hand like other ziplines I have enjoyed.

This zipline was German engineered and built well with careful planning to make it so easy to enjoy....no climbing between zips, no hands required to hold on and no self braking.
Anyone from ages 5 to 85 could participate in this envigorating adventure as long as you can walk up the initial steep hill to get to the big platform that look like a ship at the start of the ride.

After the zipline tour, we had a very tasty lunch on secluded El Valle Beach with fresh Mahi Mahi and chicken grilled to perfection over coconut wood. Of course the jumbo cooler was stocked with beverages and ice cold Presidentes whenever you want a beer.... a mandatory liquid provision that never runs out on all Terry's tours.

We thoroughly enjoyed another outstanding day in Samana thanks to Terry and his very friendly and knowledgable staff Tom and Sophia. It was such a blast we all wanted to do it again that day!
We'll be back next year and the Walk the Plank Zipline tour with Terry will be on the agenda for sure.
Thanks for the great tour Terry....you da man!

We did the zip line tour with Terry and had a fantastic day out of the resort.
Zip lining was a blast! Had lots of fun going upside down on some of the runs.
The delicious lunch that was served at a beach consisted of grilled fish and chicken with salads and rice and beans
Afterwards we were given a presentation and tasting of some of the local products such
as sugar cane, chocolate beans, papaya and pineapple, mamajuana and an amazing cinnamon hot chocolate
Terry is quiet a personable guy and gave us a lot of information about the area and the people and his own experiences living there.
We had a really nice time! Would definitely recommend!

We took the tour with Terry, because his site said he would accept donations of school materials for the local kids. We chose a non-challenging tour, we'd done zip-lines before, and the whales summer here in NH.The National park tour was incredible! Tom, an American ex-pat had all his facts straight about the history of the island, and Sophia, our local guide added personal insight and humor. Supposedly the whales were at the mouth of the bay, but when our lookout sighted them, we stopped and added those to our tour. The caves were amazing, weaving through the islands, a trip through paradise, and then lunch on Caya Levantado, possibly the most beautiful island in the world. A great local lunch in a beautiful setting, with entertainment. All in all, our best day in Dominican Republic.

The zip lining experience with Terry and his crew was my favorite part of the Norwegian cruise to the Caribbean. The locals are friendly. The crew made me feel safe during zip lining. Terry's awesome. God bless him and the Samana locals. The good prepared by a local is delicious and safe. Only good things to say.
