To actually witness a bomb disposal team go about their daily work of locating bombs and destroying them to make the local villages a safer place was such a unique eye opener. The team took us out to a bomb site, explained their tasks, the history of the area and the hardships brought on to the locals. They then blew up some unexploded mines they had found that day while we watched from a safe distance. If you want to witness first hand what local Vietnamese are going through in the DMZ Danger zones, then this cant be missed! The Visitor centre is also rich in history and local stories dating from the war to the present.

A must if you visit Vietnam, very educational and gives an insight into the issues still faced with landmines in the area.

During my Vietnam trip I had the possibility to visit the Mine Action Visitor Center and take part in a bomb disposal. It was a impressive experience for me. Now I can imagine a little bit more how horrable war and its effects must be. The women and men working in this center are doing a great job and should get more support especially from the USA.
Thank you very much for the great day!

This is a very worthwhile place. I was already aware of the issues associated with land mines from living in Cambodia, but if you're not, the displays are very informative. And just for a change from the norm in SE Asia, the English on the displays doesn't make you laugh so much that it's hard to the matter seriously.

You will get a guided tour from the guy who runs the place unless he's preoccupied with one of the school groups. The kids come in from the villages in the areas where there's a lot of unexploded ordinance for education sessions.

There's other stuff they do like make artificial limbs for victims. I slung them some money, how about you? :-)

This centre must be part of your DMZ tour.
There are many things to see and they can give you much information about the situation in the Quang Tri provinz and also for the rest of Vietnam.
