“Great location and friendly staff”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

This review is written in room 3311 at the hotel over the wireless internet which worked fairly well.
We have stayed here for two nights and all in all a pleasant experience.
The usual small details of a shower head holder mounted upside down, so that you can't use it unless you want to wet the entire bathroom. The bathroom is huge BTW, seems like a lot of wasted space, but I guess they had a reason for that...
The restaurant is worth dining in and the pricing is fair.
The exterior of the hotel could use a bit of paint, but on an overall basis, the hotel is fairly well maintained.
If you need a central place to stay in Thakhek, this hotel is worth a try.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room in the north wing on a high floor.

It all works but looks a bit sad. The outside badly in need of a paint job. A small motel style room with a useless balcony. The staff were very good, the bed comfort great. For a couple of nights on the way south its a good choice for what's on offer elsewhere in town. There is a buzzy evening drinks and snack bars on the riverside up near the main square. The hotel is on the road that runs along the river front. The big draw back is that all the food in town is pretty dreadful, to the point where you could get sick.
There seems to be some sort of mafia running the pricing for visitors. everything is more than twice the price than anywhere else in either laos or thailand. Hotel usd 60 / night, van 130 ks usd 90, tuk tuk from bus station usd 7, just crazy and not negotiable. Very bad value!

Solid well presented property offering all Mekong river View rooms in the middle of the city. The hotel is modest to present itself as a 3 star hotel. Nice friendly service, refurbished rooms are very pleasant, breakfast is good. No complaints anywhere.

My only suggestion would be to make this hotel more friendly in its appearance. A few high trees around the parking lot. Some flowers on the balconies (look what Shangri-la did in Singapore). If this hotel would have a more "friendly facade" a business center, a pool and a free shuttle to the bus station it would be truly 4 stars.

Anyway this hotel in Thakhek can be truly recommended!!!!!

Only had one night due to a late change of plans. We were due to arrive at around midnigh, however due to the bus breaking down our actual arrival time was closer to 5am. Despite this there was still someone at reception only to happy tp check us in. The room was amazing and easily the best we encountered in our one month stay. The Breakfast spread was the evivalent of any I had in Australia. The staff were wonderful. One word "excellent".

This is a lovely hotel and very reasonable priced. The rooms are large, very clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom and shower are lovely with all kind of amenities. When you got a little tired of sightseeing you could watch cable t.v. or read the English or Lao newspapers in the lobby. They also have computers for hotel guests. Breakfast is a buffet and all the other meals we ate there were good as well. The hotel is situated right across from the Mekong so there was always lots to see. The staff here are great, very professional and tried very hard to ensure your stay with them was memorable.

We ended in this hotel as all the other hotels or guesthouses were full.
The cheapest room is deluxe room for 58$ in high season.
The room was quite big, clean, with a balcony (but no table nor chair on it).
The bathroom was ok and clean too (but plastic bathtube broken).

The breakfast in inluded, this is a buffet with salty food but also cereals, fruits..

The staff is very helpul and smiling.

If you are fantasizing about being off the beaten track, go elsewhere, but otherwise this is the most comfortable stay in Thakek. Clean, no Mosquitos, good mattresses, functioning Internet, and good value for money.
