Our three day stay at Tiskita Jungle Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We felt like guests of the Aspinalls instead of clients at a hotel. We loved the family style meals where Peter and Lisbeth joined us for each meal and sat chatting afterwards for as long as the guests cared to stay.
The abundance of wildlife was amazing. Twice we were able to watch the white-faced squirrel monkeys cavorting in the trees (and watching us as much as we were watching them), once by the swimming pool and once by our cabin. There were plenty of iguanas as well as some toucans, an agouti, a coati, lots of lizards, etc.
The cabins were much nicer than we had expected--large and comfortable with a large shower in the bathroom, as well as one outdoors.
We enjoyed walking to the village via the road and also the beach, hiking in the forest, swimming in the pool and also the ocean at low tide.
It was a wonderful place to relax instead of being on a rigid schedule for tours and activities. The hammock on the deck was great, with a wonderful view of the ocean and forest. Another day there would have been nice.
