First of all; the food at Het Veerhuys was excellent. Second of all, despite the fact that the restaurant is situated in the depressing city of Almere, it is situated at a nice spot at a lake and has a great terrace. Third, the staff of Het Veerhuys. Even though they are nice and work hard enough, they have their priorities mixed up. 'Are you going to stay outside the whole dinner? Once you have decided you can't change since it is very complicated for us (the restaurant at that time was catering to maybe 10 guests).' Another example: 'When you choose the menu, the whole party has to choose it, since it is very complicated for us if you order different dishes.'
When after a few hours the temperature dropped under 20 degrees Celcius, we managed to convince the staff that they are here for their guests and not the other way around, resulting in us moving to a table inside. A strange experience.
All in all Het Veerhuys is a nice restaurant with a good kitchen that just need to work on their priorities a little.
