stayed here in a tourer for the weekend, the weather was wild and we were given a pitch on the bottom field which was very waterlogged
nice site and the shower /toilet block was lovely and clean with hot showers !!
the site is well maintained and the location is brilliant..its about 30 minute walk into bakewell but did notice a bus
it was Halloween weekend and the site/pub was very busy

This is an excellent location between Ashton in the Water and Bakewell. Ashton in the Water is about 15 minutes walk away and has a village shop, a hotel which has a restaurant with a bar that are both open to the general public as well as residents. it also has another tavern which is across the road. Its a quaint and traditional village pub with friendly staff and a good beer selection.

Bakewell is about a 20-30 minute walk away or £5.00 by taxi. It is by far the livelier of the two villages with loads of place to eat, drink and shop. Out of all the places we I would definitely recommend The Peacock right is the heart of Bakewell. We stayed there for 3 of the six nights we were away and the accommodation is excellent, clean and tidy, the food is heavenly and reasonably priced. The the staff and attentive informative about the area and this is a very well run pub with great food and well kept ales .

The other pubs and restaurants are mostly OK but I would say very run-of-the-mill tourist turn -around type places.

Back to Greenhills Holiday Park, excellent accommodation, very clean and well heated shower and toilet block. The site itself is well managed, very tidy and the staff are very helpful and knowledgable of the areas in the Peak District

This camp site was perfect for our visit to Chatsworth Country Fair and first camping experience! The staff were really helpful prior to arrival and answered all my questions. The showers and toilets were really clean and couldn't be faulted.

I come to this site twice a year but thankfully not during school hols or weekends (so sorry to read previous reviews regarding noise / anti social behaviour). Site is obviously quiet and immaculate out of season. Shower block etc is perfect, loads of hot water. Ok the bar & shop are closed during this period but a leisurely walk to Bakewell alongside the River Wye to stock up is ideal . Evening walk to the Ashford pubs (Ashford Arms / Bulls Head) for food & drink is perfect. Always receive a warm welcome from the site staff and get to choose my tent pitch. Just returned this week, looking forward to my spring trip in 2014. Peak roads are spot on for motorcycling during the 'quiet' periods.

If you enjoy camping next to alcoholic chain smoking violent louts this is the place to go !!
Our experience over a 2 night stay ;

Constant noise and disruption beyond 1am (above & beyond the normal campsite noises) , drunken louts using excessive foul language and in front of children , urinating in full view in front of their tents 20 yards from a toilet block & when ask to stop the foul language by other campers threats of physical violence were made resulting in one couple packing up their tent & leaving the site at 11pm.

The staff on the park had received numerous complaints from various campers but were unwilling to take any action to remove the offenders as they were “regular customers” so my advice would be DON’T CAMP HERE use a smaller less well known site if you want any rest at night because you could end up pitched next to these loutish “regular customers” if they happen to book the same time as you !!!

I'm sitting writing this review at 2am.
Last night we we kept awake by noisy neighbours, tonight some venue nearby is playing music.
The music I can deal with but the base is just too much!
Me and my husband came for a quiet weekend-boy were we wrong to pick this site.
Can't fault the friendly staff location and the amenities but will never be coming back to this disco!
