“Perfect cottage”
Reviewed March 29, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Great cottage with everything you could possibly want! It's small, but everything you need is there, it was great to find cake, milk and eggs, alongside all the usual amenities. Great location too!

“Fantastic long weekend”
Reviewed March 10, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We had such a lovely time at this beautiful cottage, exactly what we needed! The furnishings are lovely and made for a cosy stay, there are loads of dvds to choose from for settling down in the evening and the cottage is surrounded by gorgeous countryside for exploring in the day. It was lovely arriving to a freshly baked cake, milk in the fridge and eggs, a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. We would highly recommend to everyone!

“Very cosy and well equipped cottage.”
Reviewed January 14, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Good location for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and Chesterfield. The cottage was warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. It was equipped with everything you would need, obviously there has been a lot of thought put into it. The cake, milk and eggs is a lovely welcome after a long drive. It is located near a lovely country pub. The owner was very helpful and you get the impression nothing is to much trouble. Thank you very much Lindsey, we had a lovely stay.

“Cosy cottage”
Reviewed December 3, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

We stayed for a short break and had a great time. The cottage is little but compact and had everything you need, with a really comfortable bed. Wonderful walks on the doorstep and near Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall which are all decorated for Christmas. The lovely cake and fresh eggs are a welcome treat from Lindsay who has thought of everything. We would definitely return.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Townend Cottage as a very comfortable and pleasant place to spend a few days, the little touches everywhere (bathrobes, nice toiletries, exceptionally well equipped kitchen) add luxury. Perfect for a romantic break for two!
