“Sleep in a garage?”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We booked the last room (Pine) online but didn't realise we would be given a converted single car garage for 70 pounds a night!
It was an unusually warm summer night but the only fresh air was from a window about 3 foot by 1 which could be only tilted open slightly. So we chose to wedge the door open during the night. We could not connect to the wi-fi except in the owners front hallway where we had to do our overseas emails. We were not offered a breakfast time but allocated 1 on arrival to suit the owner and the promised gluten free sausages never arrived. The breakfast otherwise was good and the meal at the local pub was superb. We could not stay another night but did notice the room next to ours (Large double) was almost double in size as it went the full width of the double garage for only 10 pounds more. Of course the photo on the website gives a distorted impression of the size.

Dear Calylehouse,
Thank you for posting your review.
Your title is very misleading and derogatory, the Pine room you stayed in has never been a single garage-our property is a Split Level Bungalow with two rooms below the lounge built into the hillside with views down the valley.
The Pine room, like any other bedroom, has a full size window with a top opener which meets with building regulations. Unfortunately it was one of the hottest nights in several years - which is beyond our control.
We are governed by ''The Quality in Tourism'' and hold the 4 Star Silver Award. All our rooms come to their very high standards. Our website does not use wide angle photography to enhance
the room size.
Wi- Fi is available free to guests throughout the property but not all equipment will pick it up. We
did offer for you to work from our lounge but this was declined by yourselves.
Like most B and B's we try to stagger breakfast time to avoid congestion, and keeping people waiting. We try to serve everyone in a quick and professional manner. The gluten free sausages
were available - but again were declined because you wouldn't wait for them.
You originally booked three nights but only stayed the one; we were most disappointed to go to the room and find £70.00. cash on the side and not even a polite ''good -bye '' or any explanation from you.
Had you asked in the first instance for one night we would have declined the booking.
When staying in a Bed and Breakfast, you are staying in someone's home, looking at your other
contributions on Trip Advisor maybe next time you would be better suited to a 5 Star Hotel, but
you'll not get one at £70.00 per night!!!

Regards.
Ann and Stuart Rowland.

Warm welcome, spotlessly clean. Good breakfast served in pleasant surroundings with great views from the window. although located at the top of the hill on a narrow lane, they have a small car park across the road for four cars.

Stumbled across this charming B&B by accident, will defo be booking again very soon, lovely people run it and truly got what we came for, a good rest and sleep, the place as a whole was stunning, was made to feel so welcome, I tend to go of vibes and this was a happy place and the owners have made it this way, perfect.

Beautiful B&B set in a nice quiet spot. The owners Ann & Stuart were very friendly. Bedroom and shower room were nice and clean. Lovely breakfast. Only a short walk to the village pubs. Will certainly visit again.

Not having stayed in a B&B befote I must say I was slightly apprehensive to say the least, believe you me I should not have been.

Located in a secluded spot in Vicarage Lane, we were given the most lovely welcome by the owners, after a quick chat we were shown too our room which was on the ground floor, with its own separate entrance from the house. The room once inside was lovely a large double bed and a lovely fresh room with en-suite bathroom all pristine. The bed was very comfortable and be both slept well in peaceful surroundings. The next morning breakfast was served in the main house which was delightful a beautiful full English breakfast cooked to perfection.

We stayed two nights and I must say it was a first class experience and would do it again especially here.

Room Tip: Choose the room if possible with own separate private entrance as it gives you total privacy withou...

Just had a lovely time staying at Chy-an Dour such a warm welcome into a lovely home. The breakfasts are excellent and a stroll down the road will bring you to an excellent village pub. Will certainly be visiting again.

This B&B is probably the best we have stayed in, very clean and tidy, the rooms had everything you could need. Breakfast was delicious and Ann was the perfect hostess. The surrounding scenery was breathtaking with some great cycling to be had.
