“Great B&B in Hope Valley”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Stayed here 16/17 March, made very welcome by Jo & Leon. Comfortable room (I was in a twin) and a lovely breakfast - all at a good price. I would certainly go back, and it's in a good location for walking and cycling. Thanks for a great weekend.

Stayed here again on New Year's Eve 2012, Jo was her usual friendly welcoming self, nothing is too much trouble for her. Lovely breakfast on New Year's Day, we will certainly stay here again, in fact when visiting the area, I would always think of staying with Jo - thanks once again

We stayed a couple of nights in the studio. It was very comfortable and cosy. But beware if you are tall - being in the roof space, it would be easy to hit your head getting in/out of bed or navigating around the foot of the bed to the bathroom.
It is quite roomy - comfy lounge chairs and a table and chairs as well. Small kitchen area would be good for longer stays. The decor is "older"style, but quite functional. The bed was very comfortable. Central heating and wifi were both good.
The breakfast was very nice - served downstairs in a dining room.
The location is good - easy access to many features of the area, and walking distance to a pub for dinner.
The hostess was very friendly and helpful with advice on things to see and do.
Car parking was close, but finding the place was a little tricky - it is up a laneway and so we didn't see it on the first pass.
It was very quiet and relaxing here. One night we availed ourselves of one of the free DVDs and enjoyed a film.
Booking arrangements were simple and straightforward.

Recommended.

We have stayed at Thornhill view B&B twice now, once in October 2010, and again in June 2011. We stayed in the double room, and the fab self contained flat. The owner Jo was friendly and helpful, and made us feel really welcome.
I was impressed with the clean, cosy rooms, with everything you need to be comfy (love the twirls :) haha). The breakfast was gorgeous, with a tasty wheaten pancake under the fried egg!
We were out walking all day, so it was lovely to come back to a well presented room. On our first stay the self contained flat was really well equipped, with its own living room complete with tv, books, dvds and maps. It was on the small side, but that only adds to its charms. I would recommend this b&b to anyone, and hope to return again soon.

We have just returned from three nights at Thornhill View B&B. We went after a recommendation from a friend and it is a little gem. Little being the operative word! The self contained flat is built above the garage and is small. However it is unvbelievably well equiped. There is a tv/dvd player, radio, fridge, cooker and microwave so if you did not want to go to the excellent pub/hotel (2 mins walk) you could stay in and cook.
The flat was warm and cosy with great views especially at night through the skylight looking at the stars.
Jo and Leon the hosts are friendly and not intrusive in any way. Jo cooks a lovely breakfast that would keep anyone going all day.
The surrounding area is beautiful. We drove to the train station (less than 5 mins) and took the short trip to Edale and after visiting the Visitor Center did a walk from there to Castleton, past the caverns and Man tor and back to Edale again. This is a really nice 6 mile walk.
We will be back next year.

Room Tip: The self contained flat I believe is very nice.
