Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed May 11, 2013

We have just left the Mykonos Grand after spending a blissful 5 nights here. Unfortunately the weather was not very accommodating but the resort could not be faulted. The staff in particular make this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and they were especially kind to our one year old who got A LOT of attention from all the staff. Breakfasts were a lavish affair, with champagne, as much fruit, pastries, cereals, cold meats etc etc as you wanted as well as an egg station where they took your order so that you didn't even have to wait for that. The hotel is about a 7 minute bus ride to town with courtesy coaches laid on every hour in the evenings which is handy as the roads are such that you would not really want to walk there. There is a large pool with plenty of loungers and cabanas open to all (they even allow you to put your towels down to reserve them, so long as you're sitting on them by 11!) The hotel has its own private beach, not the prettiest, but is fully serviced and provides everything you require. All in all, a first class hotel :-)

We spent 5 nights at the Grand and were extremely impressed with everything about the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful but not obsequious. Our room was beautiful, not the least nor most expensive, but far more than adequate. A large shower room had a marble seat and with a switch you could turn it into a steam room. The nearby bathtub, in the middle of the room, was large enough for two to share it. Free wifi. A huge pool. Plenty of free chaises lounges. Free gifts every night with the turndown service, e.g., swimming goggles and key chains with little lights in them. We had one lunch and dinner there and they were excellent, but we usually skip lunch and we had too much fun eating in town every night to stay at the hotel. And there's a free shuttle to and from the town every evening. If I had to find something to criticize it would be totally unimportant, e.g., the jam at breakfast. But otherwise, the breakfasts were extremely sumptuous and delightful. We don't need to go back to Mykonos again for the sightseeing, but it would almost be worth it just to spend more time in this hotel.

Room Tip: Middle level rooms are perfect, unless you want your own little pool for a thousand dollars a night.

Spent three nights here & had a wonderful time. I thought the room layout was very interesting/unique with the tub in the middle of the room! Rooms + hotel very clean, lovely views, very friendly and helpful staff. It's about a 10 minute taxi drive outside of Mykonos town in a quieter area, but hotel had a bus going into town during the evening and was easy to get a taxi back. We had massages and manicures at the spa, and everything was great!

We had the best time in Mykonos Grand last summer, travelling with my 8 yrs old daughter. Clean, not so big hotel, best beach and pool area. Nice breakfast buffet and great lunch at the hotel. As for dinner, we went out every night to the city. I would recommend this hotel when visiting Mykonos, the best service ever.

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view room. If you are travelling with kids, ask for a room close to the pool and breakfa...

be careful about the type of room you book! Being used to 5 star luxury hotels we booked and expected 5 star experience. Instead, the room was in 3 star shape, bath tub tiny at the point of being health and safety hazard, beer in the mini bar in cans ?!?! Hosts and serving staff at breakfast - have not heard of 5 star service - they pampered to loud, obnoxious guests who wanted to talk their ear off and "become new BFFs". however, enjoyed afternoons by teh pool and nearby restaurants.

Nothing bad to say really. Everything worked great in the room, it was clean, modern, tv worked, ac worked, terrace was lovely with lovely view, hotel beach was cute, breakfast was big and proper (not totally 5 star quality but still very very good), spa treatments were pro, staff was very nice, no major crisis, location was great - not too far from town center....
Even if it was crowded and all, I had a great time and hope to go again soon. Recommended.

I never thought I can fall in love with a hotel, but I definitely fell in love with Mykonos Grand. The staff, the service, the facility were all perfect!

I stayed at the mykonos grand and cavo tagoo on my trip to mykonos, and Mykonos Grand is by far the nicer hotel. Cavo's staff was useless (service was horrible) and the breakfast was bad--way overpriced for what it is.

Mykonos Grand on the other hand--I have no complaints. If you want to relax and be spoiled, come here! It's also very nice to have the beach at the hotel, it is a very good beach.

I did not find the location to be an issue as they have shuttles and they can call taxis for you, but I did go in September so it was not peak season.

Room Tip: Definitely get the sea view!
