My wife and I were driving restaurant to restaurant, checking out menus on our ATV, when we came across Liatero Marine. They had a typical taverna menu with a nice selection of seafood items (which is what we were looking for). We were there fairly early for dinner, so we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. Like many locations on the main road, this one is open plan, which allowed for a fantastic panoramic view of the sunset over the water. This particular restaurant also is located on a mini peninsula where the road juts out, so you feel like you are at the end of the world. Other reviewers correctly note that the road separates the restaurant from the water, but that is the same with all of the neighboring establishments as well; the occasional vehicle passing by was no distraction and did not diminish the ambiance.
The food was really great, fresh and nicely presented. One of the owners was present and she was an absolute sweetheart - Greek with an Australian accent! Definitely try the house white wine with your meal, good stuff. I sadly can't recall the name of what I ordered for dessert, but it was really fantastic as well. All in all, a great place to have a reasonably priced dinner.
There also is an entire "kids restaurant" and playground area around the back of the restaurant, where a few families were having a dinner. My wife and I don't have children yet, but this struck us as a really great concept for families traveling with children looking for a place where they can eat without worry about disturbing other diners.
Check it out - you won't be disappointed!
