Description: Fascia prezzo: €15 - €25 Cucina: contemporanea Possibilita per mangiare: Accetta prenotazioni, saletta prive.

“catching atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 29, 2012

Passing by the Information Center we found a business card of Ristorante Stryx, and because is just few step near the center we decided to take a look at the menu on the window. We decided to stay caught by the choice of slow food delicatessen and the atmosphere, young, informal, easy and quite. We discovered a lovely corner out of the 'old trattoria' choices. We opted for the only table on the upper level, very romantic, surrounded by vintage pieced of furniture and out of the way. There was the choice of a fixed menu or a plate with different kind of salami and cheeses, all slow food picked. Focaccia is home made super tasty and fresh and the lady is a great cook and a fit woman, she ran from the kitchen , on the other side of the road ,to the restaurant. We only enjoed half of the fixed menu as focaccia was too good and we stuffed ourself with plenty, always warm! the first course, a stuffed potato ravioli was excellent and when the cold plate (outside of the menu) came we knew we could not go further. Aside the mix of different regional salami the choices of cheeses was excellent: goat cheese, pecorino cheese and a taste of an original cream of 'formaggio di fossa' . The wine choice was a typical San Giovese. Desserts could not be avoid and we picked an amaretti cookies pudding and a cinnamon and lemon pudding, everything handmade! Also the 'after coffee ' gift was an original mexican treat. The staff is amazing and very sweet.

“Like a delicious visit to an Italian friend's house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2011

We took a day trip to Brisighella on October 19th, 2011. When we arrived the market in town was all set up, with locals selling their wares. We wandered through the medieval city looking for a place to eat. We settled on Stryx and it was amazing. We were a bit late for lunch by Italian standards and were the only ones in the restaurant for that reason, but they welcomed us and did not rush us at all. The husband and wife treated us like we were old friends visiting -- patiently explaining the specials they had that day. It all sounded so wonderful we let them decide and we were treated to some of the best home cooked food we encountered in Italy (we were there for a month). We had an assortment of salumi, the BEST homemade foccaccia (unlike the one in the US, which I don't like), amazing fresh pasta. There was an emphasis on products of the region and we were able to get a taste for Brisighella - the wife would bring us info on what we were eating when she realized we had an interest. It was also a varied, creative menu. We shared a coffee outside with the husband and he suggested we climb up to the clock tower and explore some of the Roman walkway right above the restaurant. He also gave us some tips on where to pick up local olive oil and we went to the frantoio (olive oil maker) right outside of the town center and bought some right where it is made - Frantoio Olive Ossani. Overall, the visit to Stryx was the highlight of our day in Brisighella.

“Small town atmoshere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2011

A quaint little restaurant that seats 10-12 people. The menu was prix fixed. It consisted of two choices per course. We were a party of four and we all had a different meal. The food was delicious. The service consisted of the owners, husband and wife. He is the host she is the cook. Very pleasant and attentive. They suggested places to visit, products that are indigenous to the area etc. The whole dining experience was one of the best during my entire trip through italy
