“French gain revenge for Agincourt”

The French have long memories. They have set up a hostelry in the village of Agincourt specifically to fleece unsuspecting English tourists as revenge for them loosing the eponymous battle.
The prices they charge at the Charles VI is obviously what they feel is in lieu of war reparations.
That tied in with the typical Gallic sneering service won't see me back here unless it's for a rematch !

We went to this restaurant and waited for about twenty minutes to have our orders taken. We then noticed that a group that arrived after us were served first at which point we decided to leave. No idea how the food is.

After visiting the museum and site of the battle at Azincourt we decided we needed a drink. The Charles VI was open and close to the museum. It cost 8 Euros for 2 café alonges (Americanos). Monaco or Versailles was cheaper. Avoid at all costs.

We had a snack here when we visited the Azincourt Museum (very good). To be fair, the weather was poor and it was mid October but the ambiance was disappointing & the service was grudging although it was clean.

We went to the brasserie and ordered 3 cheese burgers and fries. After waiting 30 mins, during which time a party of french diners come in and were served with their food first our meal arrived. The burgers were tasteless and one was hardly cooked at all and had to be sent back! The burger buns cut side had not been toasted, as a result the juices from the meat had turned the bread into a gooey mess. the lettuce had been placed underneath the burger and had turned to green slime. I've no idea what cheese they used but it was not a melting cheese and looked like baby sick! Its a simple dish, but it still needs to be cooked with care, skill and understanding all of which were sadly lacking at this establishment.
