“Sadly, La Galette Nedlands is no more”
Review of La Galette De France - MOVED

La Galette De France
Restaurant details

La Galette has morphed into Cafe 125. They still have nice croissants and other French things, and they have a more varied breakfast menu. Sadly, they no longer do crepes which, in our opinion, were the best available in the area and out main reason for going there. The crepes were the main thing which differentiated La Galette from the other cafes in the area. WIthout the crepes, it is just another cafe.

Perth has an array of cafés and restaurants which bring cuisines from all over the world to the Aussie's doorstep. France is generously represented in Perth and is given as a reference when it comes to 'patisserie' croissants and other 'pains au chocolate'. Well they are a reference (although standards are lowering , even in France but that's another matter ...
Every street in Perth has a French café of some sort and in a lot of cases the French ambiance is created by old clocks, continental furniture, a good picture of La Tour Eiffel, some old postcards and some genuine french waiters or even better waitresses...
La Galette de france does all of the above.
But service with a smile was not on their list.
On Sunday afternoon we were at a table absorbed in a conversation when the place literally closed AROUND us - blinds drawn, floors swept, furniture put way except our table and four chairs ..
There are better ways to tell people you are closing...
Crème brulée liquid and 'pas bon du tout'
I would reckon a lot of what we had was not true homemade but frozen stuff...
sorry but I don't think I'll be back ...

The place is really awesome for breakfast brunch or lunch. The crepes are good. Coffee is great. And the breads are pretty great too.

This is one of my favourite "hanging out" places for a cup of coffee and to satisfy my sugar indulgence. It is only a small place and it is quite common for customers to hang around waiting for a table. Tables are worth waiting for. Alternatively - they do take-aways as well.

A good way to start the day with Breakfast from fresh French baked croissant and made-to-order crêpes, with a fantastic coffee like like the french.

The food they have - starts with delicious finger food, crêpe ..... however you must try they "famous almond croissant and marvelous macarons, and our amazing croquembouche". you will return!!!!
