I've spent 7 weeks on Kwantu, the 7 most amazing weeks of my life! I've enjoyed every single minute, I can't even think of moments I didn't enjoy. It's such a peaceful, quiet, beautiful place. The only thing you hear and see is the beautiful nature with its beautiful animals. You won't be bothered by traffic, buildings, people or even planes. For that reason you really get the chance to relax and enjoy nature! The longer you stay, the bigger the chance to see more of Kwantu's wildlife! The lions and monkeys will wake you up every morning, which is a fantastic experience! The staff is absolutely amazing and very friendly, they will do anything to make your stay unforgettable! Thanks for giving me the time of my life, I'll definitely be back!!!

The food was plentiful and very tasty.
There was an abundance of wildlife to see. The rangers gave us a fantastic game viewing experience and are very knowledgeable on the various species.
The rooms are well trimmed and spacious, catering for singles, couples and families, all for a reasonable price.

This place is magnificent! The rooms are huge, the service is excellent! The food it out of this world! YOu get to interact with baby tigers and see the lion in the sanctuary as well as the big 5 in the game reserve!

Room Tip: The lodges are closer to the eating area and have jacuzzis

I joined the Kwantu Volunteer Program in December 2011 and was there until January 2012..Our various attempts at conservation included repairing pot holes in the roads, cutting down alien vegetation, brush packing the ruts in the road to aid regrowth, training the elephants, making elephant beds, food etc, tracking lions and game spotting so the rangers know which direction to take the guests on their game drives...and much much more....
Altho we started early at 7.30...and started immediately with heavy work, as the day went on it got easier, to finish with a game drive..or lion spotting ..After afew weeks we began to think of these animals as OURS...our ZULU...Our Thor and Bianca, the Rhino....and of course..our Bangles...the youngest Tiger cub...
If you are interested in conservation I would recommend this program to get an insight into the workings of a game reserve...but be prepared to work!
Accomodation is in dorms, a girls, and a boys dorm..We had a man who kept everything tidy, did dishes etc...
Food is prepared and served in one of the restuarants
I have been back now for a week and am already missing the roar of the lions at night and the monkeys scampering across the roof....
You will love it!

Room Tip: Dorm living isn't too bad when you get used to it..altho wouldn't like to do it forever.. A...

having spent christmas eve at kwantu i was rather dissappointed.
i had previously heard many positive reviews about this place and decided to give it a try.
the rooms were at best average and what one woukd expect from an establishment that markets itself as a 5 star resort.
the food was deplorable and the service at meal times was shoddy and untenable.
the game drive was ordinary.i have been on better at half the price.
the rehabilitation centre is nothing more than a zoo.
the service levels extended by the staff need to go beyond a smile and a greeting , it should centre around meeting the needs and requirements of each guest regardless of the age of the staff.
the restaurant staff should in my opinion all be sent packing as they have an arrogance when serving the guest.
simply put. you woud not be missing on much if you did not visit this place.
definitely not value for money

Room Tip: avoid the place

Stayed here one night and did two game drives. Saw the big 5 but at a distance
The rooms are excellent top notch the best we stayed in during our south africa stay and the people and staff are very friendly and nice. However we were disappointed with the food here.Had two mediocre meals. The other neat part was the predator farm. Had a great ranger from scotland and he knew quite a bit about the animals. No drinks or tea provided during game drives just peanuts and water.
