We arrived at La Forge after a long day travelling. Charles met us as we arrived and immediately made us feel at home. He showed us to our suite and left us to settle in - bliss. Although called La Forge, the building in which we stayed was a mill and part of a medieval community, the buildings of which were in existence up to 1928. Charles and Loare are restoring the grounds and mill with archeological sensitivity and a lot of vision. We walked part of their grounds which extend up the valley along a white water river which was in full flow following the recent rains. Their three dogs joined us as we marvelled at the tranquility of this stunning location. Much refreshed after our walk, we enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Charles which was mostly sourced at La Forge. Later, we retired to our spacious room and fell asleep to the sound of the waterfall. It was with some regret that we left the next morning to continue our journey, but we look forward to returning to stay a while longer. Thank you for a delightful stay Charles and Loare - au revoir
