“Indian Neagara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2014

Chitrakot water falls are about 40 kms from Jagdalpur town in Bastar District in southern part of Chhattisgarh State of India. The horse shoe shap falls remind me of Niagara falls in USA. River Indravati flows in full swing during monsoon season and falls about 100 feet in horse shoe shaped mouth.of the falls.

These falls are in a forest area an mostly visited during rainy and winter seasons for picnincs by number of tourists and locals. There are very few lodges near the falls. Best way is to make stay in Jagdalpur town where many good hotels are available, and visit the falls by private vehicle during the day. You can by statying in Jagdalpur also visit famous nearby Kotumsar and Kailash caves.

Must plan your next holidays in this area and you will not regret. Jagdalpur can be reached by car from Raipur which is well connected from Delhi and mumbai by air and rail.

“Awesome waterfalls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

Must visit if you are in Chhattisgarh... Its a very long drive from Raipur to this place but its worth it.... the waterfall even in peak summer is amazing....
The place around the waterfall is quite unclean and badly kept... but still the fall makes up for everything.

“A roar within calmness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2013

The waterfalls, the widest in India (so have I heard), comes to you all of a sudden as you traverse the 30 km or so from Jagdalpur through deep Bastar interiors (safe during the day) and you will be taken in by the beauty that speaks with you with wide open eyes. Worth visiting, even though it is to the interior, but there are trains to Jagdalpur from both Visakhapatnam as well as Kolkata, and excellent Volvo buses from Raipur.
