“Home Away From Home!”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

This is the place to stay when visiting the Sunshine Coast, BC! Martin goes out of his way to make you feel at home as well as providing everything you need to 'be at home'. Up The Creek offers bikes on site to travel to the nearby beaches and shops, as well as all necessities in the kitchen and living area you need to make your stay that much better! Up The Creek is extremely clean and tidy and is highly recommended by locals!

Layout is two dorm style rooms with bunk beds, a room with a double bottom bunk and single top, as well as a quieter cabin, located on the property, with a queen bed.

An amazing place to stay, in an amazing place in the world!

Pour trip was horrible! Martine is not welcoming. Never present in the house when we need something. The sheets were very dirty. In conclusion, don't come in this place if you want a nice trip in Canada.

Hi Betty G.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. It has taken me some time to work out how to write a response to your review.
I think however that you may have reviewed the wrong property, as my records show no record of your visit here in either Dec 2013 or Jan 2014. Clearly the other reviewers have a very different opinion of Up The Creek. Please feel free to contact us should you wish to voice your concerns further

I stayed here for just over a month during a working holiday and I really cannot stress enough how wonderful my time was. It truly felt like a home away from home. I'd come back to Roberts Creek purely just to stay here again. And I will...

Up The Creek proved once again to be the perfect location for our group get-together with great facilities including a warm relaxing lounge, kitchen and dining area and comfortable bedrooms. It's the perfect place to stay whether travelling with a group or as a family and an excellent spot from where to explore this beautiful part of the Province. We'll be back!

We just held our national staff retreat there, with 20 of us, and this place was the perfect size - very cosy, just enough space with the kitchen area, reception area and common room to meet our needs. The common room served as the meeting room with the wood stove to keep us warm, and even had a space to project our presentations on a big white sheet! It was close enough to walk to the beach, to the store, or hike through the forest, all activities which we enjoyed while we were there. We would definitely us this location again.

I spent a couple of weeks at Up The Creek as a work & stay volunteer. I immediately felt welcomed by Martin and his son Coulter, and found it a really laid back place to base myself while enjoying the sunshine coast. Every detail is attended to and every guest coming through seems to find it a haven on the coast. I couldn't recommend it more!

Up the creek is such a wonderful hidden gem in the quiet town of Roberts creek. It easily feels like a home away from home! The facilities are great and Martin the owner is so friendly and helpful, always keen for a chat and a laugh. We loved it so much we changed our stay from 2 nights to 6!
The best part - the doonas! The best I've ever had - so warm and fluffy, you won't find these in any other backpackers!!
Make sure you visit the Sunshine Coast and especially Up the Creek - you won't regret it!!
