The villa is easy to find and in a lovely secluded dip in a little village. The garden is private and quite. The terrace is vine and bougainvillea hung.....heavenly.
The villa has all basic holiday needs covered. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and the wood burning stove was marvellous on the one cold damp night that we had. The kitchen is fairly basic but I expect cooking will be minimal with the amount sea food restaurants in the area. The oven is poor. The décor is unglamorous but charmingly Med-Rural!
I would recommend this villa to all of my friends, the only mild criticisms that I have is that it did smell a little damp on the first nigh, I suspect we were the first visitors of the season so maybe it had not been aired for a while, also it is pretty clean but not spotless!
On the plus side the owner could not have been more friendly and helpful and it is very reasonably priced compared to similar properties in the area. It really feels as though you are staying in a proper genuine old Portuguese cottage.

Thank you for the helpful review. Please note that the areas for improvement noted and addressed. Apologies for spiders web above cooker - will be extra careful to thoroughly clean this area in future! Yes, the cooking facilities are aimed at the holiday guest: the gas cooker is of fairly "rustic" design but it does have 4 gas rings that work very well. In addition there is a microwave oven (and now a sandwich maker). The oven part of the gas cooker is not very effective and is due to be replaced. We try to ensure there is no dampness in the property (yes this reviewer was the first guest early in the season), hence the electric blanket as well as wood burning fire and heaters. Thanks again for the review.
