Been there for Christmas. Hotel a bit oldish, but it has it's charm. Excellent service, people very nice and helpful. Very clean as we'll. Nicd view on the frozen river. Warm jacuzzi outside.
Excellent Christmas dinner. The rest of the meals were very good, would be even better if a little more varied.

Just a short stay but very enjoyable! While the hotel is close to the small town of Overkalix it is located on the junction of two rivers so has water on three sides. I stayed in the Winter and views from the room was spectacluar. Some time for arctic ativities including a Moose farm with a wonderful Sami owner, Huskies out in the wilderness and some snowmobiling. Magnus the Manger was very helpful in organising everthing! Relax and Sauna area overlooking the frozen swiming pool was a good end to the day and the outside sauna was lovely. Room was ensuite with swedish only channels. decor a little tired but very clean. breakfast was varied and filling and Dinner was of a very high quality.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a River view!

Thank you for your kind review. We're right now renovating the Spa and Relax area and have added 2 outside jacuzzi spa baths to make the next experience even better and will offer a large variety of treatments.

Nice located hotel near the water. Stayed there with two kids and had a super time in the heated swimming pool. We had larger room at the ground floor that had immediate access to the pool which was very convenient. We had dinner one evening at the hotel which was also well made.
On the downside - there is not much staff in the hotel and the little staff there is is to a large extent young people, some of which are probably only working there for the summer, so the service level is not high. Secondly, the breakfast served in the morning is really poor.
And yes, there is moskitos, but I guess this is what one should expect when going to this area of Sweden. We had a undetected hole in the moskito net covering one window into the hotel room, leaving us with a lot of miskito bites after a night's sleep.

Thank you for your review and we're glad to hear that you enjoyed the stay. As new owners of the hotel we will ensure in the future to have more experienced staff and new mosquito nets are now covering all room windows in the hotel.
