Pulled to a prebooked hook up site, to find it was absolutely chokka. Our spot was right on the beach and convenient for all of the resorts facilities. A clean ablution block was also close by along with a BBQ area under some trees. The location is great and the resort has sufficient facilities for a relaxing, unsophisticated break. Not as touristy as I expected. The dolphins interaction was as good as expected, along with the pelicans.i would go again.

We arrived here in the afternoon without a booking, and recieved a very unfirently response from the duty manager, who said we should have booked. Ok, we didn't book in advance, but there is no need to be rude. We weren't sure of our plans and had found powered sites everywhere else without a booking. We tried to forget her attitude and drove into the resort. If you arrive with a campervan and are given an unpowered site, this basically means you park with other cars, and tents are erected on the grass.

The facilities are ok, the kitchen gets busy and when the tour groups are in it is nearly impossible to use anything.

The dolphin interaction was very interesting and the resort is the most convenient place to stay. The Monkey Bar serves reasonably priced food but not particularly good food.

This resort has a good location but the staff need to be nicer to prospective customers.

Nice place to stay and getting so close to dolphins that aren't in captivity is a rare experience. Staff were really pro conservation and its a brilliant example of how Eco tourism can work effectively. We had a room with a shared bathroom and waiting for showers etc was a bit of a pain as there were 8 people using them but we could have splashed out and got an en suite. Restaurant was a bit of a rip off but bar food was nice and well priced. A lovely stop off along the coast for a couple of days. There were the signs of building works and I hope tht they aren't expanding too much as part of the charm was that its a small, friendly resort.....

When we started organizing our trip to WA, I wasn't really keen to go to Monkey Mia, I was quite afraid it would be a too "touristy" kind of place. As we stayed for a few days in Shark Bay (but not at Monkey Mia resort), we decided to go and have a look. And it was amazing! Rangers are very careful, volunteers as well, there is a bit of people but too much and everything is done to protect the dolphins. They won't get too much food, etc. It's not only about watching dolphins, it actually is about teaching people how important marine life is. It's very impressive. And well, OK, fair enough, watching dolphins playing around and being just inches away from them is truly amazing.
We later went on an half day cruise and marveled at dolphins, sharks, turtles and even a dugong. Wonderful area, hopefully, we'll go back there one day!

This place is amazing. We drove from Perth, and it took us a couple of days as we had an infant with us, so couldn't spend as long driving as we could have done. But what a drive! Through arid deserts with only the occasional road-train.
Monkey Mia is literally in the middle of nowhere, and therein lies the magic.
Wildlife is abundant. Sitting at the bar surrounded by the friendly emus, to snorkelling surrounded by rays, fish, turtles and the odd seasnake, and of course the dolphins that make this place so amazing. Going on a boat trip and seeing Bull and Tiger Sharks literally 100m from where you were just snorkelling (don't worry though, the Dolphins keep them away from shore!)
We stayed in the beach front villas, and it really was just spectacular. The nightlife is pretty non-existant though, with just the one bar open till 11pm, but that is not what this place is about. It is all about being at one with nature in one of the most remote places in Australia. It truly is the most memorable place I have ever visited.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, and they aren't fully booked then go for the beach front villas. You wont...

We have been twice now to the Monkey Mia resort and both times we have had a wonderful time. We're from Perth and decided to take the long 10 hour road trip, stopping off a couple of times to stretch the legs! -it just added to the great experience that is travelling in our own back yard.

The resort is so relaxing, with the beach quite literally at your doorstep; we stayed in the Beachside Dolphin Units, they have a short boardwalk down from the room to the beach only maybe 25m from your back door!

The 'Monkey Bar' serves big sized meals and Pizzas all day, no need to go hungry at this place and they have a great selection of drinks both bottled and on tap.

The 'Boughshed' restaurant has an amazing chef and cooks a great selection of meals, again, they are big serves! We tried nearly everything in the menu by the time we left, entree, mains and deserts all were great, we never had a bad meal. The restaurant is also where breakfast is served, the buffet has everything you could possibly want; I love poached eggs and they were plentiful!

We did a few tours as well; the Sunset cruise on the 'Shotover' was fantastic! The crew were great! We could take our own wine and nibbles and could walk around the boat wherever we liked to get the best view! We were lucky enough to see a huge pod of 30+ dolphins catching fish just off the side of the boat! Amazing experience!

The Pearl farm is worth a visit, I had no idea what kind of work goes into getting pearls, the tour guide was extremely knowledgable and I now have a much more greater appreciation of why they cost as much as they do!

The Quad bike tour in Denham is great, suitable for all ages and experience levels! We were out for around 3 hours stopping every now and again taking pictures of breathtaking views of the area; again, the tour guide was extremely knowledgable!

There are many more things you can do at Monkey Mia, and of course there are the dolphins! They come into the bay pretty much every day; however they are after all wild animals and the resort can't guarantee that they will show up! But when they do, it is such an exciting thing to see! The guides are so passionate and know so much about the family's history. Most mornings they are there anywhere from 07:30 to maybe midday. The resort are allowed to do up to 3 feeds a day. I recommend going to the 2nd or 3rd feeding only because the first one of the day is pretty busy!

The resort over all is a great place, you are forced to relax and enjoy your surrounding but if you get itchy feet there are activities to do if you feel the need; swim in the pool, take a paddle boat or canoe for a ride, watch the wildlife movies in the theatre or ride a camel!

We love it at the Monkey Mia resort and we will be back; you can count on it!
