“A little rest from cars noises”

Isola Pedonale Lido di Ostia
Reviewed June 21, 2014

Italian have a big problem with closing street for a cars. This is one of the few I've ever seen in this country. A little rest from the noise, with a Latte before hitting the beach. With more street like this, Italy would be a better place :)

Lido di Ostia, Italy
It is very lovely place and you can get a bus from Rome Fiumicino airport, it is name is CATRAL
It is about 20 minutes by bus to reach there
There are many restaurants on the beach and coffee shops over there
It is very nice and calm city as it is near from airport, you will find a lot tourists there, walking around this nice greenery area
There are many touristic shops to sell accessories, handbags for women
It was very short visit but it was wonderful really
To be honest, it is very lovely and nice place to visit it
Come on and go there for some hours or some days to feel comfortable.

Shops, restaurants, bars and if you happen to be there the right moment the sunset is great! It's only walking area, no cars no noise, you can take your dog, children can play around with skates and bikes. Very nice!

Easy journey to Ostia from Paramide stationing Rome. urban train from Porto S. Paulo to direction C. Colombo. 5 minute walk to the pier from the station "Ostia Centrale". Beach is typical for many that I have seen in Italy where it seems that most all ocean access is privately owned. You must pay to enter the water. Also, the water in Ostia is quite turbid and not very inviting. I suspect this could be from the outflow of the Tiber. If you are looking for a more enjoyable experience at the beach while in Rome, It would be my recommendation to visit Santa Marinella instead. It is a bit further and available from the station S. Pietro. An easy 45 minute journey directly to the beach.
