Your appetizer you choose yourself by going inside and choosing from the famous porchetta from Ariccia, olives, cheese and other starters. But don't fill up on starters because the wild boar pasta was to die for! We were so full we couldn't eat anymore and only paid EUR20 a person. Can't wait to go back.

This is Great! If you ever felt like you wanna take Part in "Jamie oliver's italy", this is it! Starters with prosciutto, mozarella di bufallo and salami are great! You have to try the Steak (Even if You're soo Full After the Starters). One entrecote is enough for 2, btw. Incredible Value for Money!

Well worth a trip out form Rome. Packed and very very noisy at the weekend but extremely atmospheric and the food is excellent. Not much English spoken but not much needed. Get a table and go to the counter and point out what you want and how much (a very useful word is 'Basta' meaning 'Enough'. Use it when they've put sufficient on your plate). And don't forget to have the bread (pane -pronounced pa-nay) it's baked in a wood burning oven and tastes fabulous. There's no need to have anything else afterwards though they might try and tempt you with a menu - most Italians will just have a big plate of things from the counter so do the same.
Someone will come to your table for a drink order - Aqua (water - naturale is 'still' and frizzante is "sparkling") or Vino (have vino biano - white wine, the local stuff).
If you want a desert (dolce) I'd recommend just having fresh fruit (frutta fresca) - they always have pineapple (Ananas).
Finish with a coffee unless you'd prefer to stand at a bar somewhere else.
Pay when you leave. Ask for the bill (conto) at the till by the door and let them sort things out themselves. The cost is generally very reasonable - 35-40 Euros for 2 people, including wine (that for the food from the counter, fruit, a litre of wine and coffee).
