May be mostly a family hotel for the winter ski season, while I was there on business in early June. Older property, I wonder how much longer they can go on without a thorough renovation. Small (narrow) beds. Bathroom functional. No easy ventilation: it was warm, but opening a window could easily have let mosquitoes in. Amazingly, there were only light curtains and no blinds against the midnight sun! Breakfast options are limited, dinner was tasty, however. One night I returned to the hotel at 1.30 a.m., to find the entrance locked and nobody answering the doorbell; while I understand the reception desk cannot be staffed around the clock, this general lock-down policy was not clearly stated or posted anywhere, and seemed absurd for this low profile hotel in its apparently safe environment, especially since individual rooms do have their own door locks obviously. Luckily, there was a couple from another room who were enjoying the gorgeous light and balmy weather on the upstairs balcony at the back. They had unlocked a door from the dining area, and let me in that way. The highlight of this hotel was the sauna, with its landing to swim in the lake (or rather dipping in and dashing straight out again, as thin ice sheets were still floating on the water!).
