We had two weeks vacation in Finnish Lapland. First week we stayed in near Rovaniemi place called Pyha. Second week we discovered upper part of Finland and Norway.

We ended up in place called Kilpisjarvi. It is very special place in uppermost corner of Finland, just next to Norway and Sweden. This place is truly one of a kind. Imagine a village surrounded by snow covered mountains as far as your eyes can see. You definitely feel like visiting a dream land.

Kilpisjarvi is definitely unique place to see the nature in its full might. You feel yourself so tiny compared the majestic mountains. Specially when you get closer to Ice Sea in Norway. The mountains become higher and steeper. This combined to deep fjords is breathtaking.

During our stay we were blessed to see really strong and colorful Aurora Lights. This was a trip to remember. Someday again...

Kilpisjarvi is very special place in Finland. When we arrived there we didn't know how tiny it is! We heard from the reception that there are only 120 permanent residents living in the village. It is very quiet and relaxing small and cute village. Nobody seems to have rush or stress here...

The views are spectacular! There are mountains everywhere you look, on Finnish side, on Swedish side and especially on Norwegian side. They are all snow-covered and really majestic.

We spend our vacation just skiing and walking around (climbed up Saana), and relaxing. Our cabin was just perfect base camp for us. There were all we needed (kitchen, sauna and drying cabinet for our hiking gear) and lot more (like four bedrooms...).

It was really hard to leave Kilpisjarvi, I guess we lost pieces of our hearts there. Our vacation was way too short. Hopefully we have a change to come here again, maybe to get a cottage here in retirement days... No rush and stress anymore...

Room Tip: I personally prefer the big Saana-cabins

I'm eager fisherman. We have been in Kilpisjarvi area many, many times. Every time there seems to be new places to fish.

I love the mountains and small mountain streams. It's a relaxing experience to escape your normal routines and the crowds to silence. During the day hikes you will find quiet places: it makes you feel you are the first man to discover this place.

I usually stay in the village of Kilpisjarvi, it is close to mountains and also close to Norwegian Sea. I prefer to stay in Tundrea Holiday resort, why? Their cabins are new and huge, after they day of fishing It's great to relax on hot sauna and cook your days catch in the kitchen or in the fireplace.

Service is perfect for us and it's always nice to share fishing stories in the evening while have a beer in the wooden laavu (teepee) outside.

We went hiking in the arctic Lapland for four days. What an unforgettable experience!!!

There were lots of interesting places to see: Saana Mountain just beside the village and national park Malla, with small mountain water fall just next to Lake Kilpisjarvi.

We started our day hikes from this location, after the day it was really convenient to return and have relaxing sauna and then dinner.

The hotel staff helped us to organize our day trips, great thanks to them!

I would definitely like to come back to Finnish Lapland.

Room Tip: I preferred the cabin near the small mountain river
