This is the second time we have stayed there - they remembered us and made us feel very welcome. The hotel staff went out of their way to meet our needs which included an early breakfast one day. Dinner was good and quite reasonably priced. Looking forward to going back soon.

Very disappointed . and wished we had stayed 2 nights at crab pottage a lovely B and B and eaten at the Horse and Lion instead..
The room needed was in desperate need of a re furb...2 rickety pine single beds both head boards wobbled about 6 inches either way, bathroom tiles scruffy. scuffed wallpaper and first thing that we noticed was the dirty and stained carpet ..but room did have a lovely view over the sea
For £90 cannot believe there was no hair dryer in the room !!. on getting out of the shower one of us had to go down to the bar area with wet hair and ask for one...the lady in the bar was quite abrupt as the bar was full with party, so i wasnt too chuffed at havin to stand there with wet hair while she was serving..many thanks to kind waitress who did eventually help ....why isnt there a hair dryer in the room !!! stayed at crab pot cottage and the price was a lot less and there was a hair dryer and ironing facilities in the room
booked a table in the restaurant..big mistake..although the starter was excellent..pity the main course was such a let down. I asked for the venison medium to well done and it was certainly well done ..dont know what happened to the medium ? It was very over cooked and very tough. Main courses were seved with frozen peas, carrots, oven chips, one boiled spud and leeks in tomatoe and basil sauce..what a concoction...surprised a a "chef" serving that up..it didnt work, especially with venison
Breakfast average..yes there were about 10 cereals to pick from but found that unnecessary and would have preffered more emphasis on the quality not quantity..the cooked breakfast was poor quality....very fatty and thin bacon. salty black pudding and greasy mushrooms...ok so you could have 2 of everything but again its quality we prefer and as we dont on a building site didnt need a huge plated of fry up..but quality food would have been nice
Not impressed with the noise...kept awake until after midnight with music from the bar..then woken up at 7.30 am with music again. when they were preparing breakfast.not much consideration shown to guests..so make sure you dont get a room above the bar .We did mention this when we checked out but it was just met with a shrug of the shoulders not bad for £90 eh !
We are aware that our review is not complimentrary but it was how we found it and no point in not reviewing it honestly...its probably all down to standards, probably ours are a bit higher. For what we paid found this to be very over priced ...Crab Pot Cottage far excceded the standards we expect and cost a lot less...so give it at try and give this a miss

Lovely friendly owners and staff and excellent food - only problem too much of it! Good comfortable accommodation, a little dated but everything works well and very clean. Always a pleasure to stay here.

Stayed here with a group of friends for 3 nights, and what a find.
We had the most amazing breakfasts ever, you name it it was on the plate, and that was after the selection of cereal and fresh fruit including strawberries, raspberries, melon. grapeefruit, orange...........We didn't eat again until our evening meal and again this was a veritable feast with a selection of locally caught fish ,steaks, roasts and veggie optionsserved with a mountain of vegetables, then of course there's the sweet trolley.
If you stay here bring two sets of clothes, you'll definitely be a size larger on your return home. Thank you to Mike and his wonderful staff for a great 3 days.
