“Stunning place”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

We visited Flamborough Head on a quiet, sunny Friday in February and couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. The lighthouse makes an impressive sight on the headland, especially when framed against a deep blue sky. We had a pleasant walk around the headland, taking in views of the cliffs and the lighthouse. There are plenty of benches with gorgeous views out to sea and steps take you down to the beach, although the steel scaffolding ones looked a little precarious! Had always wanted to visit Flamborough Lighthouse and it more than lived up to our expectations. Highly recommended! Whilst there, it's worth walking the short distance to the old lighthouse which has recently been restored. Although not accessible to the public, it still makes interesting viewing from the roadside.

“It Is What It Is”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

I missed this review recentky, possibly because there was not a lot to say.

Flamborough Lighthouse, the drive down is quite interesting with on or two des-resis on either side of the road, however when you get there nothing seems to happen. Good views of the sea (bearing in mind you have to pay for these.

In the vicinity there is a shop selling things you normally find at the seaside, a club/pub which I personally would avoid in high season and of course the lighthouse. We have never worked out if you can visit the lighthouse so it is difficult to comment on the interest point of view.

We have been in high season when it is heaving and you cannot get a parking space, on the time we went (November) parking was not a problem, finding something to look at was.

We love Flamborough out of season because you can get about easily and the countryside is great, in season a bit manic.

“Very Interesting”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

I have been a fan of Flamborough for some time, I find it very relaxing and love the deserted beaches and rock pools. I had walked past the lighthouse many times but this was the first time we visited. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and told us of the history of the lighthouse and we climbed to the top which was very steep near the end - a step ladder but it was really fascinating and my seven year old son enjoyed it very much - definitely worth a visit.

“Great visit”

The lighthouse does 20 minute guided tours. They are very good and cover history, geography and the science of lighthouses in the uk. Really enjoyed the visit.
