Went for a drink they have a childrrns play area, the play area is the most disgusting swamp I have ever seen. My daughter looked like she had taking a mud bath. It is clearly lacked in attention by the manager. The toilets, wouldnt wee in there if they paid me. Overall a total hole. A shame cause it could be an amazing family pub

me and my family have just come back from a weeks holiday at thornwick bay holiday camp. we came across this pub when we were out walking and decided to call in for a drink on the way back to the camp site. we sat outside in the sun and asked some people what the food was like and this 1 woman piped up and said its georgous so we came back that evening for a meal. we were told there was an half hour wait so we said not a problem. well the problem didnt arrive until we got the food. the gammon was more like a shriveled up piece of bacon and the burgers were like dried up old beer mats deep fried, chips were scraps, salad out of a bag and a wedge of cucumber that would have made a good door stopper. we were asked by the waitress if everything had been ok we replied no its the worst meal out we have ever had. the childrens meal was the best out of 6 meals ordered chicken nuggets and free icecream which had been in the freezer that long we actually got fed up of waiting for it to melt so it was left along with everything else. we then went to the toilets my god they were absolutley disgusting with dirt and a vile smell of wee. the pub was actually busy with 1 bar staff and 1 waitress and no landlord in site. we asked where he was but everyone seemed to dissapear at the same time. you have got to feel sorry for the few staff they have because they will take all the flack from customers. We were not the only people complaining three other familys were complaining about the food and the service. when i saw the toilets i felt sick to think i had just eaten there and i dont think people should be able to serve food when there premises is so dirty. my advice is go into flambrough village it may be a bit further to walk but the ship pub is lovely food great and nice service clean and also a landlord and landylady who are more than willing to be seen. also had free fish and chips on pool night in the ship inn

this is an amazing place for a cheap last minute breaks, me and my partner came here for my 21st birthday as a quick get-a-way, with our 6month old son and dog and all felt very welcome and felt comfy in the studio apartment, plenty of room and it's own kitchen if you wanted to cook yourself.there are amazing views of the sea and cliffs from the patio and a lovley peaceful place to sit on a evening with a few beers, the staff are very nice and welcoming. only advice is if you have small children dont forget your harness as buggys are no good when walking on the cliffs or beach days. all together a fab trip didnt want to go home, we will certainly go back.

Me and my partner have stayed at The Viking many times and the holiday cottages are cosy and clean with great views. We have no complaints at all, the staff are very helpful and pleasant and the pub is great for karaoke on a night. We have no idea how anyone could complain as all we have is compliments and great memories.

Looked fine on interest but arrived to find premisis was a dirty old pub that doubled as a fly tipping site. Due to rubbish on site including broken glass and chemical bottles this is not safe for children or pets. We turned around and left and have since tried to discuss with the owner via email and telephone but have recieved no response or money back. Good luck!
