“This restaurant in itself is worth a trip to Valle de Angeles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2011

Beautiful historic home converted to a restaurant. Inside and courtyard dining. The owners are friendly, welcoming, and informative. The food is excellent. Great variety of choice on the menu and excellently prepared, fresh foods. I had grilled lamb pinchos and my friend had eggs ranchero - both were to die for and well presented. Could have spent the whole day here sipping wine and talking with Karen and Rudy (the owners).

“A great place to eat and drink in Valle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2011

We've been annual visitors to Valle de Angeles for more than a decade, and frequently we've enjoyed visits to Valle de Angeles. We recently spent two weeks in Valle, and dined two or thee time as Casa de Las Abuelas. The owners (Karen and Rudy) are: pleasant, knowledgable, honest, English speaking, and...on top of that they run an excellent restaurant in a historic building with great food and a full bar (our of sight, but available).

High quality meats (the filet mignon is cut in the usual american style instead of the thin filets typical in Honduras) and excellent chicken and fish are all reliable. The food is carefully and cleanly prepared. Hours are a bit irregular, and usually closing time is around 5pm. Generally open from mid-day through late afternoon, Wednesday or Thursday through Sunday.

The restaurant is a couple of short blocks behind the church (the one on the plaza). Just walk up the street on the left side of the church, and you will come to Casa de las Abuelas.
