We visited this little gem of a restaurant in the picturesque and charming setting of La Caleta this October and was blown away! I Went to Tenerife with the absolute intention of dining on delicious fresh fish and seafood (ideally Tenerifian or Spanish style) for the entire week long, but happened to drop into Tuttobene for a light lunch after craving fresh produce and salad (it was that kind of heat where a fresh zingy salad was all I could eat!).
We had a huge generous Greek Salad, a Caprese salad and lovey white wine garlic prawns. It was so delicious that we thought we would try an evening meal later on in the week!
We certainly weren't disappointed on any of the 3 or 4 subsequent times of eating there, and happily devoured our way through some beauties on the menu - Seafood Bigoli, Clam Spaghetti, Mussel & Scallop Gratin (had to order the scallop Gratin a couple of times it was so good!!).
We even went back a couple of evenings just to drink a couple of glasses of the wine. Certainly their wine is more expensive than the rest of the area offers, and there is no cutesy carafe options, but if you actually appreciate wine, it's worth paying for what you drink!
The service from Michele and Marilena was warm, efficient and attentive. They always stopped for a little chat which was nice and personal. I really think they are the perfect package of content and style - the food is absolutely fresh and delicious and honest, and the I found the service professional but human.
I think we ended up probably eating just as much beautiful seafood as we had hoped, with the added addition of tasting lovely wine and delicious pastas, and meeting two very nice people indeed. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend this restaurant - they should be at the very top of everyone's dining experience whilst in south Tenerife.
Going back in May :) Will be one of my very first pit stops!!! Cant wait to try the rest of the menu!
Caprese Salad - No Basil, but delicious all the same (Tenerife has issues with growing certain fruits and vegetables and herbs understandably with year round sunshine and limited (non existent) rainfall.
Greek Salad - fresh & huge and delicious.
Wine Garlic Prawns - Yummy light tasty lunch option.
Seafood Bigoli - Generous seafood of mussels, Clams and prawns. Lovely tomato based sauce with a hint of chilli, fresh bigoli pasta - a winner!
Clams Spaghetti - Just delicious, wine & garlic based light sauce with heaps of fresh clams!!
Scallop Gratin - Absolutely stunning; creamy and scallop-y and just perfect slathered on fresh bread with a nice glass of white wine!
Mussel Gratin - As a note, the fat mussels available in Tenerife (green lipped) are by far across the board the nicest mussels I have ever tried anyway, but they are baked here to perfection under a creamy breadcrumb topping. Yum!
Don't hesitate - GO!!! Its head and shoulders above its direct neighbors near the small beached area of La Caleta. Big thanks to Michele ad Marilena for the welcome and the beautiful foodie experience! :)
