It was rated 4/6 La Caleta restaurants and we fancied somewhere lively for dinner, even if it was going to be a bit touristy. But no! -there were plenty of locals there, and we were v well treated with a great corner table. We chose two disappointing starters, the fish soup which was thin and flavourless, and a horrible octopus dish which I couldn't eat. I was all poised to write a terrible review, but then it all got marvellous. The main fish courses were superb - a lovely grilled dorada and a fantastic mixed grill of several fishes and prawns. Accompaniments of Canarian potatoes and a house salad perfectly balanced the plates. Too full for dessert, we ordered a brandy to enjoy out on the terrace. Two huge Carlos 1 turned up served in warmed glasses covered with a saucer. Portions are huge - don't bother with the starters. Great!

Very much a seafood restaurant, very limited choice otherwise, but if you want seafood the options are endless. Lots of fresh fish on display to choose, including many live ones in the tanks. A table outside is preferable as it overlooks the bay, although inside you have the pianist. We went for garlic prawns, fish soup, calamari, mussels to start with a large local fish (I forget the name) to share, which was a large size and very good. Crepes to finish. Very nice.

Went to Masia del Mar for lunch on the last day of our holiday. Staff were very surly and seemed rushed. Doesn't cost anything to smile! I ordered a glass of red wine, which was freezing, should be served at room temp. My husband had a pint of lager and when he asked for another one they didn't take the empty glass away. Food was good though. This restaurant was let down by staff who didn't care if we we customers or not. Don't know if I would return.

A pleasant 25 minute stroll along the coast from Costa Adeje brings you to the lovely little village of La Caleta. We chose Masia del Mar as it was busy and the fish on display appeared very fresh. We were not disappointed - the seafood paella for two was wonderful! The best we have had! Good value for money too.

After walking from costa Adeja, we arrived without booking at about 1930 and were quite quickly seated at a sea front table! The service was excellent and the food terrific. We particularly enjoyed the gazpacho and the grilled hake was exceptional accompanied by a fresh salad and Canarian potatoes. By 2030 it was very full. On a. Ill night the inside tables are also attractive and the light piano music in the background enhanced the ambience. After walking to the restaurant, it was a surprise to walk out on the landward side of the restaurant to a taxi that whisked us back to our hotel!
