It was rated 4/6 La Caleta restaurants and we fancied somewhere lively for dinner, even if it was going to be a bit touristy. But no! -there were plenty of locals there, and we were v well treated with a great corner table. We chose two disappointing starters, the fish soup which was thin and flavourless, and a horrible octopus dish which I couldn't eat. I was all poised to write a terrible review, but then it all got marvellous. The main fish courses were superb - a lovely grilled dorada and a fantastic mixed grill of several fishes and prawns. Accompaniments of Canarian potatoes and a house salad perfectly balanced the plates. Too full for dessert, we ordered a brandy to enjoy out on the terrace. Two huge Carlos 1 turned up served in warmed glasses covered with a saucer. Portions are huge - don't bother with the starters. Great!
