“Mother Nature at Her Finest”

No cell, no radio, no T.V....just fresh air, a clean, comfy room overlooking the water, 2 muskoka chairs on our deck, a picnic table for meals overlooking the lake, the sound of a loon at night, a million stars in the sky so close you could touch them, reasonable priced delicious homemade meals that could be picked up from the main resort or delivered to your room, a carafe of delicious coffee in the morning, very accommodating and helpful staff (we brought our dog with us and the kitchen prepared him breaded liver and bacon for dinner)..he wolfed it down in 2 seconds...great nature trails...sitting in a natural waterfall and swimming in a pond below it....the reddest sunsets I have ever seen...peace, quiet, heaven....God's Country....

Room Tip: your swimming pool is all natural, beach, waterfalls...who needs a fitness centre...just walk in nat...

Came here for a wedding, the place was nice, peaceful (no cell reception) but too far in the woods for me. The staff wasn't always friendly and we got yelled at for drinking beers and not purchasing them at the bar. Also, the staff wasn't very accomodating for people that didn't want to stay 2 nights for the wedding and the food was not very good at all. I wouldn't recommend it for a wedding.

We stayed in a chalet. The views were excellent. The full kitchen allowed us to prepare meals without a problem. We dined twice in the lodge dining room. It was very good and reasonably priced. Although it was a cabin, the rooms were so clean it was as if it were a brand new hotel room. Everything was much better than we anticipated. The staff were warm & friendly and accommodated us more like we were family that they hadn't seen in years rather than customers.

Very clean rooms, excellent food, service was outstanding. Property was simply beautiful, trails to walk, beautiful lakes. They were very accommodating to our group of 12 for our meetings, our time schedules were flexible for dinners. Next time have to bring my boat to go fishing.

Our league(NOJHL) is hosting a exhibition showcase tournament in Elliot Lake this coming labour day weekend and the guys liked it so much they are bringing their teams to stay here during the tournament. I wonder why??

We spent a weekend here just for something to do. What a wonderful spot. We stayed in one of the cabins that was very cozy and clean. I love the fact that we had no cell serice, tv etc. The staff did lend us a radio because we wanted some noise. I think we might have been the only guests who were not part of a wedding going on, but that was fine. It was such a great weekend. The area is just wonderful.

If you like modern finishes this isn't the place for you but if rustic cottage feel is what you seek, this is the right place. I loved the natural beauty of this hotel and how impeccably clean everything was. My five year old even commented on how clean the toilet was! If it wasn't for the proximity of this hotel from my home I might go every summer!

Room Tip: We were in room 10 (in the two story rooms). It was a nice quiet spot that had lake access from the...

We went to Laurentian Lodge in July 2011. We found the town of Elliot Lake had everything we needed and the look out at the Fire Tower is a must.

We rented a cottage near the boating docks on the water, with a waterfall at the one side beside the bedroom window. Nice. Big deck with chairs and a picnic table. Full sun all day. Small beach and swimming area. Our cottage had 2 floors and could comfortably accommodate 6 with 2 bathrooms and equipped with handicap shower. The cottage itself was spotless and they came in every day to change the dish and bath towels and cleaned the sink and shower daily. The grounds were beautiful for walks and sitting areas really scenic and relaxing. At the bottom of the waterfall, there was a basin that was a natural whirlpool. Wonderful.

The staff were very helpful. The main lodge was spotless and everyone was friendly. We took our ATV there and were directed to some great trails by the resort owner, with spectacular views. We tried the trails in Elliot Lake and they were terrible. If you want a real challenge and enjoy the bumps, hills and twists, you may enjoy it but we found there was not much to see compared to the trails Laurentian Lodge hooked us up with.

All in all, we would highly recommend this lodge. Food, people, accommodation, and scenery...all of it was just great.
