Found this establishment rather tired and ready for make over
The service was satisfactory although initially, we thought that we were going to be ignored.
Two guests ordered salads and had to ask for the dressing that should have accompanied the food. One guest had a portion of sweet potato fries and these were both tasty and plentiful - best part of the meal.
Some of us enjoyed the Muskoka Cream Ale and this quality beer helped compensate for the rather lack-lustre salads.
All in all, this was a bit like the "curate's egg" good in parts.
The interior appeared dark and slightly grubby. As I said in the heading: "Sharpen Up".

Drove from Huntsville specifically to have dinner with our family beside the water on Aug 24. Entrance was filthy to start with, not greeted or acknowledged as we waited to be seated. There were 5 plates of food waiting for delivery on the counter for the 10 minutes we were standing there. Kitchen staff were complaining about work , not at all embarrassed that we were standing there listening to them. When the waitress came for the food on the counter, she used a large round tray that was leaning against the wall on the floor ! We were seated at a dirty table next to a cupboard full of dirty dishes . A family sitting at the next table was leaving with dinners untouched. I asked them about their dinner and they said everything was terrible. I should point out that the restaurant was not busy . On the plus side , we had a fantastic dinner at Three Guys and a Stove in Huntsville after leaving this poorly run business .

We came here for an early dinner, and sat inside. It was a bit chilly for the patio, but the views even from inside are great. Right on the water. The menu is varied, and the portions generous. I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, and a Trading Bay salad on the side. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. It's not fancy here at all, but it feels like the kind of place you want to enjoy while at the cottage. A great little escape from cooking. Two ice cream places are also found here in Dorset, so your dessert options are unlimited!

We decided to bring our kids and sit on the patio for lunch. Great spot to watch boats on the patio. Service is terrible! No one greeted us when we arrived and we had to grab someone's attention to be seated. It was not crazy busy either so it's not like the staff was overwhelmed. It took ages before the server took our drink order. Food came out relatively quick and it's your average bar menu food that is very overpriced. It took 20 mins for us to get our bill. The server apparently just forgot.

We won't return. It's a shame because it seems like such a great location.

On our way to Huntsville, Ontario, we were at Dorset around 5:30 pm and thought to have our dinner there. We checked the Tripadvisor's website and noticed the rating of the Trading Bay restaurant.
We were happy with the service and the meal. We were served by Hailey who made sure that everything was going well and that the meal was to our taste and satisfaction.
They have an outside area that looks over the channel at lake of Bay and we enjoyed it very much. We started with Cesar salad and garden salad then had fish; pickerel and trout. The price was not cheap but for the quality and portion it was very good. We felt it was prepared right on the premises and was fresh and tasty. I would go there again.
