We were travelling to Toronto to visit family and thought we would travel north to get away for a few days. After months of searching for a place to stay we found The Moose B&B by chance on Tripadvisor (thankfully!).

Debi & Calvin were wonderful hosts with the added assistance of their very cute dog Rolo. Were always happy to help with advising us on local restaurants. We spent most of the day hiking in the rain and then returned to The Moose, which provided us with the extra comforts each evening so we could recuperate for the next morning's hike. They went above and beyond their service, so much so we had to leave them with a parting gift to say Thank you! What an amazing treat the Moose B&B was. Our room had it's own kitchenette so we could prepare our own lunch each morning and also it's own sitting area, along with fire & balcony for added romance. If it were warmer we would have sat on the balcony in the evening, looking over the lake and staring up at the stars!

To top this off Debi had prepared home made cookies for us which didn't last very long! The breakfasts were also amazing, so much so that we would come and stay for 11 days as there were 11 items on the menu and we wanted to try everything. We even had a quick lesson on how to cook the perfect poached egg!

There is nothing we could say that could fault this place other then that we wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back!

Room Tip: The Birch Suite was amazing but had a quick tour and all rooms would have suited. The lily suite wa...

Thank you for your kind words. We really enjoyed you both and you have such a penchant for details. Nobody has ever counted the number of items on the breakfast menu! Touche. Hope to see you back to enjoy the rest of the items.

The Moose B&B is a little slice of heaven. Situated in Dorset on the water, this little oasis has become my regular weekend get away from the busy city life.

The B&B is absolutely gorgeous, clean, private, beautifully decorated, and the food….. so yummy, it certainly rivals any 5 star restaurant in Toronto.

This time I stayed in the Birch Suite, which boasts a King size bed, a massive bathroom with a jacuzzi, a private sitting area with a flat screen TV, just to mention a few of the amenities. I had my own private balcony that had a spectacular view of the lake.

Words cannot do justice to this beautiful escape; it is something you have to experience. Debi and Kelvin the owners of The Moose, are warm, generous hosts and makes the whole experience so worthwhile.

Room Tip: I have had the pleasure of in stay in all the rooms. All are extremely comfortable and cosy each wit...

Debi and Calvin are amazing hosts and made our stay very enjoyable with Rolo's help. We stayed in the Birch Suite with all the luxuries one could ask for, Debi thinks of everything! Breakfast was superb surpasses many five star establishments. We have had the fortune to stay at The Moose for the last two weekends and have planned to go back in a couple of weeks

Room Tip: Birch Suite has a lovely seating area

My 2 friends and I had the pleasure of staying at the Moose B&B Easter weekend. It was my first time staying at a B&B and I'm now looking into B&B's for my summer stay in Italy because I loved it so much!

When we pulled up in the driveway it was even better than the pictures! Inside the owner was waiting for us with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies - imagine that!?

There are 3 bedrooms - 2 cute smaller rooms and then the room that I stayed into - it's huge! Has a living room, flat screen tv, kitchenette, bathroom with jacuzzi(gorgeous chandelier above) and a queen or king size bed - it was perfect! Oh yeah, it has a balcony overlooking the lake as well!!

The B&B is a stones throw away(literally) from the town of Dorset - so cute - and there's a fabulous restaurant a short walk down the small hill - great food!

The wife - Debbie - will cook you breakfast, you get a menu the night prior and can order anything you want and as much as you like... it is incredible - her daughter is a chef and taught her the recipes. You won't believe what she brings from the kitchen to your table!

On our drive back from Algonquin Park we saw so many deer - Dorset is littered with them.

If you're going to Algonquin Park or just want a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Toronto, I recommend the Moose B&B, it's just the right amount of luxury outside of the city - and in the summer... it's right on the lake!!

Room Tip: Choose large room with the jacuzzi!!

A lovely respite! As a teacher getting away on March Break, my husband and I felt spoiled at the Moose. The Birch Suite was a lovely hideaway on the blustery days, we were close enough to Huntsville and Algonquin to do snowshoeing and shopping. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and so interesting! Have already recommended to many friends. Will definitely go back!

Our winter stay at the Moose B&B in Dorset was fabulous from beginning to end. We stayed in the Birch suite, a beautifully decorated mini-apartment, with a luxurious bathroom, complete with all the amenities you could wish for. The bed was heavenly. Everything was spotless.
Our breakfast was absolutely delicious, best we've ever had! Debi makes the bread fresh every day, along with homemade cookies and other treats, including fresh popcorn to enjoy while you watch a movie in the evening.
The location is great, a one minute walk into the centre of town. Algonquin Park and Huntsville are just a short drive away.
I would recommend this B&B as your first choice to stay in Muskoka.

I stayed with my parents and my husband for two nights - Oct 12 and 13, 2012 and we had the best service we've ever had at a B&B. We have been to several B&B in the UK and Canada, but nothing compares to the service and comfort we got at this lovely B&B. Debie, its host made us both days an amazing gourmet breakfast!!! She also encouraged us to use all the facilities, including the canoe, the dinning and lounge area, Jacuzzi, etc.

We also had our own fridge and coffee maker with high quality coffee.

We highly recommend this place if you want to have a lovely and peaceful stay!
