After reading the reviews we were hesitant to try here but we were very pleased. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We would definitely go back.

This is a nice little change from the other restaurants in the area. The food was very good. As the name would suggest, it's Italian fare. The ambiance is cozy and the live entertainment on the weekends is very good and lots of fun. A great 'date night' destination.

Was very excited to experience some good Italian food and was not impressed at all, the food was bland and overpriced, bread was stale and hard. Will definatey not be back.

One of my favourite places for Italian food outside of Toronto is Salvatore's Trattoria in Port Perry. The Italian ambiance was carefully designed by the owner, Sal and the food is cooked to perfection by Lina, queen of the kitchen.

The daily soups vary and are quite tasty, but the pastas are extremely fresh with just the right amount of texture and taste. The wine list could be expanded, and the lunch portions could be larger, especially if you have an appetite.

I was disappointing in the size of the luncheon special lasagna (as seen in the photo), especially once i tasted how delicious it was. The $9 and change price includes soup or salad, the latter being equally small. Next time I will order the regular portion, albeit three dollars more.

If you're in the mood for Italian and you find yourself in North Durham visit Salvatore's, grab a window seat and watch the passers by as you enjoy a truly home cooked meal the way nonna used to make it.

We had a dinner for 10 as a send off. It was fantastic, everyone loved the food. We had a variety of dishes my husband had the seafood risotto and raved for two days. The alla vodka sauce was also a big hit. We will be back.
