“Resaurant portion has gone WAY downhill over the years.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

I have lived in Port Perry for almost 15 years. Going to Hank's for lunch use to be a wonderful treat, especially as a child. This past week I took visiting friends there for lunch and it has become a gross generic mess. Burnt home fries, overcooked chicken fingers all for an enormous price for generic food. Hank's use to serve thick sliced homemade bread with their sandwiches and it now tastes like generic grocery store bread and Kraft cheese slices not real cheddar. Another big disappointment was the hot chocolate. I reminisced with my kids about the home made tasting hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle served in a fancy cup. Now it is a packet with added water for almost $2.00. I advise you go get a hot chocolate at Tim Horton's much better value. I am so disappointed in what Hank's restaurant has become, what a memory killer. The topper to the disappointment was that Hank's always use to give a free cookie to the kids after they ate lunch. We ordered $8.00 to $10.00 lunches for 6 people including the kids and no cookie offered. Go for the bakery, there are lovely things to choose from (you will pay a goodly amount for these things but at least they are still lovely). My advice is get your lunch somewhere else and grab some wonderful to go treats and enjoy sitting by the lake!

“What a Bakery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2011

I have never eaten here in their restaurant area but I have had their baked goods several times. Whenever I am out in Port Perry I make it a point to stop in. They have the best chocolate dip donut going. It tastes like a donut should and reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandpa use to go to a bakery in Oshawa every sunday and get donuts for us. They sure don't make donuts like the ones at Hank's at any of the big chains.... Its worth the drive to Port Perry just to have one of them. The cinnamon buns are very good too and the cherry bread is amazing. Good prices too.
