This is one of our favourite restaurants on the Tuscan / Umbrian border. In the cooler months the dining room atmosphere is as good as any; on some evenings one might be fortunate to be entertained with beautiful music from the harp. In the warmer summer months there is the option to dine al fresco in the adjoining garden area. The menu is not typical for the region but very interesting, none the less. I tend to eat fish and the tuna is excellent as is the monk fish. The wine list is comprehensive enough without being over pricey. The service is very good and attention to detail is obvious.

I loved the fact that the menu was built around the best the region had to offer - local ingredients were the star of almost every dish, and the wine list had some excellent local choices on it. The trip was made even better by a friendly and knowledgeable waiter who could answer all our questions...

We have eaten twice at this restaurant and both times found the service excellent with good food and an excellent range of wines. Definitely somewhere I will visit again on my next trip to Tuscany

This is a remarkable place, a restaurant with an intriguing history, located in a really (truly) off-the-beaten -track place, which is nevertheless worth a detour if you are in the area. Its is probably best in the summer when you should try and get an outside table - the terrace is beautiful - but we have also eaten inside in the winter and that is also lovely. I would describe the food as modern Italian - and very high quality. The service is good - prompt and friendly. Wine list extensive. To find it, take the raccordo (highway) between Sienna and Perugia and then take the turnoff for Tuoro. Head striaght up the hill towards the centre of the town, follow the main road rond next to the park and look ou for the sign on the right, just after the bank on the left. The follow the signs. Buona fortuna.
