“Homemade, homemade, homemade!! The best on highway 17!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Stopped in again, and found the restaurant had made a few great changes to the decor since my last visit. A great side room that a group can have a dinner party etc. They now have a liquor license for a nice glass of wine if you choose. But the best were the homemade bread, absolutely the best date squares, tempting pies from lemon to apple all baked right there. But I tried one of their one made cinnamon buns which were unbelievable and my friend had the date square. The food is excellent and great prices. Super friendly staff, exceptionally clean. Used to be a Chinese restaurant but know everything from all day breakfast, sandwiches and homemade soup. (not salty). Fish, burgers, lots for all ages. Great spot for children. So again a great place! Take some goodies for the road.

“Friendliest stop on the Trans-Canada”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

We pulled into town for the night after 9pm- everything was closed, we went to the shop next door, resigning ourselves to road-nachos for our dinner. Ken, the owner of the store, also owned the restaurant and opened it up for us to have some dinner! Chatted and cooked us up some delicious halibut, and awesome home-made tomato soup. We returned in the morning for breakfast- delicious home made bread with our eggs, and delightful friendly service.
An amazing stop for the road-weary!

“Very nice small town diner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

Had a surprisingly good meal there. The portions were generously, and taste and presentation very good. Service was prompt and friendly. A small town restaurant that makes to feel at home. Just a really nice place to stop and eat.

“Super Stop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

The best homemade food, delicious creative soups, fish and chips, healthy salads, homemade bread and desserts to save room for or take home. Friendly staff, clean cheery setting, right on the highway. Stop in Blind River for an excellent meal, take a pie for the road! A real gem, hard to find these days!

“Great place to stop for a meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

We went here last week and liked it so much that we stopped here again on our way back. The food was good (although the soup was a little too salty) and in quite large portions. The prices were very reasonable. We had the dinner special the first time, which was soup or salad plus fish. The second time, I had a vegetarian spaghetti dish and my husband had a huge portion of fish and home-made fries. All was good!
