Re-visited the Anglers rest with my parents and family during our annual family holiday. Opted to book for pie night on Thursday evening. Food again was brilliant, the adults all had steak and ale pie with chips and veg, my older son had Haddock and chips and the youngest had goujons and chips with beans. The pie was lovely, home cooked and very good value at £9.95 including a pudding. There was plenty to choose from including treacle sponge, jam rolypoly, chocolate sponge, ice cream etc. The six empty plates at the end said it all. Fine dining it isn't and if that's what you are after this isn't the place for you, it's not a posh restaurant! It is a very old fashioned little pub, but it is clean and very friendly. The bar staff were all very friendly and the landlady Beryl is very nice... Not rude as other reviews have said. Drinks were all reasonably priced and my husband enjoyed the summer blond beers on offer( and the price...so much cheaper than at home)
we always visit the pub on holiday and have always enjoyed it!
