Paraiso Jardim - Almadena, Algarve
We all had a fabulous holiday at Paraiso Jardim (Aug 12 – 23), it was such a relief to get away from the soggy UK! The weather was glorious every day, so full use was made of the fabulous pool and the facilities in the summer kitchen.
Paraiso Jardim offers ‘the best of both worlds’ re. an apartment holiday – with facilities and the opportunity to chat with other guests, but is small and secluded so there was no competing for sunbeds etc. (there were plenty!) The hosts were available and willing to offer advice re. facilities and information about the region, which was a boon when our teenagers were debating which of the waterparks would be the best for them. There was certainly lots to see and do – the caves via boat from Lagos are stunning, Loule is a quaint but authentic Portuguese market town – the gypsy market (on Saturdays) and the town market were both well worth attending, the various local beaches and restaurant / bars around Paraiso Jardim were all worth exploring. The local restaurant – Brodies (just across the road) serves fabulous food and O Poco offers a litre of house wine for 6 euros!
We had a great holiday and we paid less than we did for a 7 day holiday in the Canaries in Feb - earlier this year. So it was a bargain too!More
