“Absolutely fantastic day out”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

Took my 20mth old daughter today who loves horses and tractors. Before we went we had some concern about the entry price, however when we got there we were really pleased. It was a lovely day out, the owner was excellent and extremely amusing whilst very knowledgeable. Very child friendly and a wonderful day out for any adult or child who loves horses and tractors!!!!

“Great day out for Senior Citizens”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

What a great day out we had at the Dorset Heavy Horse Farm park on Sunday. There was so much to learn about these wonderful muscular horses with feathery feet and gentle ways. All are rescued, some arriving in very bad shape, others saved from the slaughter house, and are lovingly nursed back to health by a devoted family team.We enjoyed a wagon ride round the farm, pulled by handsome grey horse and driven by the very knowledgeable farm owner, dispensing a wealth of information and interesting stories.
There are lots of other animals to see and stroke. I liked the ginger and black spotted pigs and the georgeous Snow Dogs.
We will come back for another visit later in the year.

“Couldn't have asked for more”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

We visited the heavy horse centre in the middle of the afternoon once all the timetabled activities had almost finished and other families had finished their days visit. Upon arrival, we were immediately informed that we had missed the days activities so that we did not pay entrance fee and be disappointed. My three year old son would have been more than happy to just see the horses, so we opted to go in regardless and it proved to be the best attraction we visited all holiday. Everywhere was clean, the animals clearly well cared for and loved, and it was so touching to see how an animal with such sad stories of early life have now found a home and family as wonderful as this. Despite the fact that we were one of only two families in the attraction at the time, we did not miss out. My son got to go on the mini horse and carriage and then we all went on the larger horse and cart. The gentleman responsible for the horses knew how to talk to a crowd, keep everyones attention, and got us to join in with feeding the horses. He even offered to reopen rides on request and was very approachable. We found plenty to do, looking at all the animals and playing in their play area. Definitely recommend this day out to all
