“Down the hill!”
Reviewed April 26, 2012

My husband and I have eaten at Cascina's restaurant several times over the years. The quality of the food kept us coming back. Unfortunately after the last dinner we had there, Cascina Boschi will not see us again. We has a tris of pastas, one of which was not what was ordered. All three pastas were salty and all seemed to taste the same. My husband ordered rabbit and I beef tagliata served with baked potatoes and grilled vegetables. The rabbit was overcooked and dry, the beef not very tasty, the baked potatoes nondescript and the grilled veggies dry and papery. And to top off the dinner, we left without ordering dessert due to the extremely loud guests at the next table and the very loud kids who were allowed to run around. What a dissappointment!

My wife, daughter (5 years) and I stayed 4 nights (July 1st-3rd) and (July 13th-15th) before and after we visited Lake Garda. It was an excellent place to start and finish our holiday. Very restful. Our room (nr. 7) was large and very comfortable, the swimming pool and the cycling on the dedicated cycle paths along the river were great. There were other children around for our daughter to play with. The food was homemade, authentic, rustic and great value. If you want some where in the countryside away from the crowds this is the place to stay.

This is an 'agriturismo' bed and breakfast but is actually a lot more! We stayed 3 nights in a room with a mezzanine. A double bed and 2 singles upstairs and 2 double sofa beds and bathroom downstairs. It also had a small fridge. They do other rooms and some with kitchens. We are a family of 4 with 2 children under 10 so it was very spacious and air condtioned. The place has a huge swimming pool, stables with horses for hacks and lessons and bikes for all sizes for free use. We swam, took bike rides along the Mincio River and the children had riding lessons from the wonderful Graziella who is a dressage champion. She was great witht he children and is a lovely, kind person - even with a small language barrier. As guests you can pay 20 euros /adult and 10 euros/child for the most fantastic meal, with huge amounts of food, in their restaurant. Their home produced wine was also very good.
If we were to go again we would avoid the weekend. The pool was very busy with locals coming for a swim and a meal and the atmosphere was very differnt and much quieter on the Monday and Tuesday we were there. On the whole the staff were great - especially Graziella and the restuarant waiter/manager.

We just spent a week at Cascina Boschi and what a find! It is an agriturismo, but it is at the high end of the scale. The place is either very new or very well kept. We stayed in one of the apartments, which was great. It allowed us to shop in the lovely local town and cook for ourselves when we wanted. The breakfasts were very ample and part of the package. Dinners and lunches were heavenly...just about everything is made on premises, including pasta, salami, ham, eggs, bread, all excellent. One of the pastas were simple pillows that melted in your mouth!

The pool is beautiful. There are many bikes to use to ride along the Mincio River paths. The horse riding is first rate with a professional rider and dressage competitor as a guide and also to give lessons. When I got bucked off one horse (probably my fault!) I got to ride Graciella's stallion and had the ride of my life. What a horse!

The staff is excellent and friendly. This is obviously a place where the locals go for a party, swim, meal, etc. Afternoons and evenings on the weekend get busy, but it's much fun to see all the people.

The apartment was very nice, had air conditioning and was very private. I would like to see a few more basic kitchen utensils such as cooking knives, cutting board and a few more pots and pans to make cooking easier. But, we did have a great time cooking the local fare and relish in its bounty.

We would definitely recommend it and return if in that area.

The farmhouse is ideally situated for Lake Garda, Verona and Mantua, as well as smaller but no less beautiful villages such as Borghetto. We stayed in a suite of rooms which for a family of 4 was perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and it was a joy to return to the swimming pool each day after sightseeing and cycling! Bikes are provided free of charge and are good quality and well maintained. We made good use of these to explore the river Mincio. Everywhere we ate, from the dining room of the hotel to restaurants in the surrounding area, was a true Italian experience, with the use of local produce and representing good value for money.
This is a gem of an hotel in an area which remains unspoilt by tourism and yet is extremely welcoming. Both children, aged 11 and 15, would be happy to return- praise indeed!

We are a family with 3 small children and we loved to stay in this Agriturismo.
It has a good location since it is very close (by car) to Garda attractions (Gardaland, Parc Natura Viva,...).
We got a small family appartment with kithcen facilities and 2 bedrooms.
Also there is a very nice swimming pool.
The children also liked the animals in the farm.

The whole area was peacefull, charming and lovely.
