I have been fortunate enough to stay at the ship on a couple of occasions in the las month. Both times I had booked harbour views [3 & 9]. I must say both rooms were of a high standard and the views of the harbour were outstanding. Downstairs you can enjoy a quiet drink in the refurbished bar and the food in the resteraunt is superb. My trips were for business, so I only stayed the one night both times but I intend going back up for a weekend with my wife. All the staff were very pleasant and clearly work well together.

Room Tip: If availableroom nine

This is my first stay at the ship and 5th trip to Stonehaven from the US. The ship will be the place of my future stays to Stonehaven which I do twice a year. The room was clean, serviced well, the resturant is excellent and the proximity to town and the castle for walks is ecellent. It does not get any better than this. The resturant and pup are excellent and very friendly. You feel like you are part of the family. Even the dogs come up and say hello.

Room Tip: The best room is 9 which has a great view of the harbor and it is roomy.

I stayed here at the tail-end of last year. Stonehaven harbour is picturesque and with the Ship Inn on the edge of it, there is no better play to stay. The room was more than adequate, nicely decorated, and a clean bathroom. No objections. The bar/ pub is good, with a range of ales and plenty of whisky.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet picturesque place to spend a couple of days after three days of business meetings in Aberdeen. We truly found what we were looking for in Stonehaven at The Ship Inn. It was easy to get to from Aberdeen by train and the day was so nice when we arrived, that we walked from the train station. Our room was very comfortable and we had a lovely view of the harbor. Had a wonderful meal at the restaurant that night and then hiked to Dunnattor Castle the next day. The only down side was that the mist rolled in on the second day when we had chosed to hike to the castle. Our pictures were basically useless, but it's definitely an experience! Breakfast is good and just the walk through the town and down by the sea is fantastic!

The Ship is a lovely hotel, with great food, in a gorgeous location. What more can you ask for at the end of a long day.
The guest beers are also good and the staff pleasant and helpful
This is the sort of thing which will make me book again.

This was the second time staying in the ship inn. The location is great, on the habour...fatastic views. My room this time was a lot nicer, i think rooms 8 and 9 overlook the harbour, i was in 9. We arrived very late so didnt eat this time but breakfast was very nice. Parking right outside. Hotel and bar Clean and tidy. Staff could be a bit more friendly but were not rude.

Room Tip: I think rooms 8 and 9 overlook harbour....definatly 9
