On our first night searching for a restaurant, we'd been unable to find the place we'd been recommended and stumbled across Miramare on the main beach road near to where we'd parked our car. We didn't quite know what to expect as we have fairly poor Italian and the local restaurants have very few English speakers, however I managed to figure out that there was no actual menu for this place so didn't know what to expect; it was a set menu but at 25 Euros a head so sounded like good value. What came next was just an avalanche of fabulous local seafood! ... Starters of stuffed sardines, calamari, octopus, whitebait, swordfish carpacio, prawns etc came in a continuous stream, all beautifully cooked with no hint of rubberiness which hinted at the freshness of the food on offer. The main course when it came was a gigantic platter of fish, from whole sardines and other small delicate fish, to deliciously meaty swordfish and tuna steaks and giant king prawns. A fabulous granita, coffee and limoncello to finish rounded off a memorable meal. Well worth a trip (if you can find it) but be warned, not for those who don't like seafood as there's literally no alternative!
