“Great location, lovely pool/garden, decent value”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Just spent 3 nights there. We had a top floor room and could have used the AC for an extra 10 euro a day (I think that was the price). However the ceiling fan was all we needed. My wife is a mosquito magnet and she got several bites. There was no safe in our room but the grounds were quite secure. The balcony is essentially shared with the room next door (there is a two foot tall divider). The only other negative is the lackof a mini-frig. all the other places we stayed had one and in this hot climate they really increased one's ability to enjoy one's stay. Don't get turned off by the negatives.

Room was large and the bed was comfortable the WiFi and shower worked well. The garden and pool are absolutely lovely. The location is perfect - just far enough off the main street to be quite but a very short walk to town and the beach (which is delightful).

We found Remy to be quite nice and very helpful. He figured out how to get to Cabarite from Galeras which is no easy task. Compared to the prices several other places quoted us, this was a great value. I would stay there again.

The room was clean, the safe was missing the lock so there was no way to secure our passports/monies but the town is a very small community and we felt very safe & comfortable! Remy the owner was nice however upon check out he was a little cranky and moody with our departure time as it was an hour past check out, we were doing our final dive that morning that he was aware of..... He was trying to imply that we should pay for another day due to a late check out? We agreed that we would not pay another day for the 1 hour. The exchange of euro to peso was very fair which is nice to see

We've spend 12 days in Villa La Plantacion over Christmas and New Year period (2012) and it was excellent. Villa la Plantacion is situated few minutes away from the beach and it is very conveniently located close to the main road but not too close, so there is easy access to all the shops and restaurants but without the noise of the typical Dominican omnipresent music.

The rooms are basic - beds, clean showers with hot water, fans and AC avaiabe, but do you need more when you spend the whole days at the sourrounding beautiful beaches??? The cleaning service is daily as well as the change of towels. The upstairs rooms have balconies where we've been spending evenings smoking cigars and drinking excellent local rum Barcelo :) admiring fantastic starfull sky, Remi's garden and the beautifully lighten pool.
Finally Remi and Yasseni are really friendly and helpful hosts. We've spend New Year's Eve together with him and his friends, for which he prepared amazing ceviche, fabulous fish and roasted whole pig!
It was great stay - fully recommend Villa la Plantacion

Room Tip: choose the balcony room book in advance by contacting Remi via email prior to your arrival

We stayed 4 nights and liked the place very much. Remy the owner is very friendly and helpfull. The place has a nice pool and a beautiful botanical garden. The rooms are plain, clean and reasonable priced, The place is quite and pieceful but close to the restaurants and beach,
We found yhis to b e a good value and excellent place to stay. Las Galeras is worth a visit and offers several exceptional restaurants, most with a French cousine.

Booked for 4 nights and stayed 7. This says says it all.
Remy is a great host, helpful and always available for any suggestion.
Although the hotel is outside the main street, it is just a short walk away and therefore still very quiet.
The well maintained grounds and pool are great.
The beaches in the area are beautiful and can be reached by foot. The nearest is just a short distance away.
Remy went fishing with some friends one day and came back with many fishes and prepared a fantastic dinner for his quests. The best dinner we had in the Dominican Republic!

My husband and I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms with a terrace and very much enjoyed taking in the view of the beautiful garden and pool each evening. The room had the basics, and I agree with others, it offered a good value. It is conveniently located - a leisurely 2 minute walk to the main corner in Las Galeras. I appreciated Remi's efficient communications in advance of our arrival, and he offered lots of helpful information during our stay. We also were privileged to partake in an evening meal that he and his wife prepared with fresh fish he had just caught. It was by far our best meal in Las Galeras!!

Room Tip: Depending on the time of year, you may not need AC (we didn't). We slept with our door to the t...
