Villa la Plantacion
Ranked #10 of 21 Las Galeras B&B and Inns

After the aweful Punta Cana and few other places in DR, this was exactly what I expected of Dominicana's remoteness. Las Galeras itself was a perfect place to be for a few days with its Playita, Rincon, Fronton and other places to go to and Villa la Plantacion was just as perfect as the surrounding area. The place is very well set-up, clean, quiet, safe, not pricey and simply just perfect for us to stay. Highly recommended to everyone !!! Rémy himself was as helpfull as one can be... Thanx a lot and with regards, Vladislav from Czech Republic.

Remy and Villa La Plantacion was everything we expected and even more. Peaceful, serene, beautiful. Close to everything including the beach and restaurants and shopping and neccessities. Remy goes out of his way for his clients and goes above and beyond the call of duty. We were fortunate to stay for two weeks and would have loved to stay longer. This is the real holiday where you are lucky enough to be able to find out what life is like in other parts of the world, where its up to you to enjoy the holiday and meet the locals. I was hoping that it would be half as good as the pictures and was pleasantly surprised to find it twice as good. No, no TV or phone! Thank God. Truly a vacation and experience of a lifetime.
Unlike all inclusive resorts you truly get to find the flavor of the country and enjoy the beauty and hospitality of the Dominican.

We have been to Villa la Plantacion for two nights on January 2 and 3, and the place is great!
As soon as you enter the room a sense of clean and comfort sorrounds you. Each room comes with its own balcony, with a small iron table and two chairs, which allows you and your partner the right privacy to rest and look to the beautiful view.
Rooms furniture is simple and essential, no hairdryer (keep your with you), and no tv (you wouldn't need it anyway).
The breakfast (3 euro per person) is served in a big wooden gazebo in front of the pool by a really nice girl that brings you butter(right temperature!!), marmalade, fresh orange juyce, coffe or tea and milk on a side if you want to, and hot toast bread!

The owner of the place, is a really nice french guy, Remi, that has done all this best to make our stay comfortable and secure.

I really reccomend this place for the price (55 euro per room per night in high season!), the kindness, the place location, room cleaness, and the peace.

What you see in the site pics is exactly what you see there: beautiful pool in the middle of the garden, surrounded by tropical trees and plants. silent, 2 blocks away from main street, we got the room with balcony for $70 a night. Clean, no TV! thank God, room in great shape which might use still a small table and chair and some decoration. Remi, the owner, is an easy going, great French fellow, ready to help and very friendly, so is his wife, Yesenia, a Dominican herself. Ideal for couples and people looking for a calm place to rest after a hard working year. Totally recommendable.

Room Tip: if u can spend this money, go for the balcony rooms, they are worth to drink the last one while look...

The bed was fabulously comfortable (a brand-new Serta mattress). The bathroom had great water pressure, nice soap, the best toilet paper we've had in the DR, and lots of hot water. We had a lovely terrace room overlooking the well-maintained garden and pool. Two minutes from downtown Las Galeras, it was quiet the first night but the second night we had to listen to merengue music drifting our way into the wee hours from the local nighspot. Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room, and breakfast on site. Remi, the owner, is friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: The upstairs terrace rooms overlooking the garden are lovely, although they have a shared balcony wi...

I stayed there for about 3 days with a friend and we had an absolute awesome time. Rooms are very clean, excellent value for money, the swimming pool is perfect and this is really a must and Rémi is very very nice, helpful and very pleasant. I have lived in the Dominican Republic for 14 months 2 years ago and went from north to south and east to west, and this is definitely one of the best hotel I have been in !!! ENJOY!!

Room Tip: They are all excellent, it is a very quiet zone.

I stay at Villa La Plantacion on a regular basis as I travel 3 or 4 times a year to Las Galeras on business. I tried other places before finding this lovely gem with its delicious garden and pool. You purists should note that the pool has a natural filtration and purification system which is not chlorine base. The garden is tranquil with an attractive selection of tropical plants and soaring coconut palms crown the pool and garden. The rooms are clean and uncluttered. I prefer to stay on the second floor with a balcony. You have free Wifi thru out. The atmosphere is casual, friendly and relaxed. You are within walking distance of services just off the main street and yet once here you will feel relaxed in the soothing ambiance of the garden and pool. Remember that this is a European style sole proprietor operation; needy and fussy travelers might consider more expensive alternatives in the area. A nice place to stay for families, couples or singles.
