I stayed for a week with a family of 4 in Chalet no. 3 in August 2017 and we greatly enjoyed it. The village is very pretty and impeccably maintained. The chalet is very spacious and could host twice the number of people we had there. Sara, the host, is friendly and helpful with tips and recommendations. Breakfasts are abundant and delicious and served on lovely hand-carved wooden trays, cups and platters. The kitchen in the chalet has everything you need and although lacking a dishwasher the room service will wash the dishes for you.
All in all this is a great base to visit the gorgeous beaches and nature of Samana' if you don't mind the absence of an ocean view and can do without A/C (which in the Summer months entails some sweating).More
