“Not 5star stay”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

The hotel is very nice and traditional. The quality of food at breakfast and lunch was very poor. The bar was full of smoke and the prices are 20% higher on Saturdays.
Swimming pool is good. There is no free WiFi at rooms. Central heating is open from reception at particular hours.

Hotel Spa Montana has it's magic it is a fantastic building,on the mountain inside beautiful nature great location with one of the most clean atmosphere regions... but is getting old..and it's not really 5 star anymore...also the Staff is very limited two people in the dining room.
The atmosphere of the hotel is very warm and cosy with music in the lounges..and a feeling of the past..the best of all is the night bar!all made from wood and with breathtaking view!
Something i didn't like was that the hotel had no enough customers we felt alone to sit in the lounges alone.also the Meals were boring for a 5 star hotel .the breakfast was average..not for a 5 star hotel.

We had a very nice experience at the hotel Montana. The athmosphere of the hotel is very warm and cosy, the breakfast and dinner were tasty and with a lot of choices. The staff well trained and helpful. The manager of the hotel, Mr. Antreas Theologou, kept mingling with the guests, caring that everything was all right. He was also very helpful to us by personnally drawing us a map for the next stop of our trip in the area.
Greatly recommended!

Our group arrived from Israel for 4 days, participants Carlo Vivaldi Festival held this year .28.6-3.7
Nice hotel and the surroundings are stunning, but the hotel is certainly not a 5 stars.
Meals were boring, unintelligent and not at all diverse. Every day the same food!!!!
Staff was nice and answered all our requests courteously and politely.
I think the hotel is more appropriate especially for groups that come for bed & breakfast .
A beautiful pool but, for example... paying 4 euros for a cup of coffee - too expensive!!
Town-Karpenisi and the people are very nice,But if you are looking for a place of entertainment there is nothing but a few cafes and shops completely ordinary.

Recommended a trip to the small place named Fitakih from there you can see the beautiful hanging lake and to go to Monstari monastery and to the small village- Mikalo hurio where you can buy chestnuts and cranberry liqueur.

Probably will not come back to that hotel.

Room Tip: Room at the enterance side of the hotel-to see the beautiful view

We chose it as a getaway for our Christmas holidays and although we did not regret it... we are not likely to visit again...

Main reason for our selection was the kids activities, access to pool and playground...
The playground was kind of a joke... cold even though it was December, a few toys (that became fewer in the process since they removed some for the gala dinner but never returned them) and not all that clean...
Pool was nice and warm though and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it...
Room was rather good... and spacious for a family of four...
Location of the hotel is superb if you like skiing and want to explore the area...
Food was average... not exceptional but not bad either..

Overall, prices are for a 5* hotel... but all the rest 3*... and the hotel does need renovation...
but staff was friendly and helpful...thus the mixed feelings it is good but it is not a 5* hotel...

I rated this *POOR^ due to the 5 stars ....because it is an excellent 3 star and an average 4 star. The building and location are ideal but that's it. Needs a total renovation immediatly everything is old. worn down and dirty, rooms and all public areas.Breakfast and dinner buffets were very poor, terrible quality food, but the waiting staff were very good and polite. The reception staff except for one young girl were terrible....Pity because this hotel has such potential...We stayed for 2 nights on the first week of Jan'12 ,in a family room, had our two teenage children with us, there were quite a few families with young kids.and some of them were very noisey with no respect to others around them. There are lots of other new lodges in the area far better than this hotel....
