“Just Perfect!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Four of us stayed here for three nights and were looked after wonderfully by Barbara and Ian.
A warm welcome, a friendly chat, lovely rooms and a cracking breakfast to start the day of.
Barbara even did us a wee packed lunch each day for a modest charge.
The B&B is in an ideal location for touring and there are several walks close by.
Weather was super so we made use of the B&B's decking area and the midges let us be.
Its a lovely area but soon to be destroyed I believe by the siting of a huge wind farm right up the glen.
What are we doing to our beautiful unspoilt countryside and the few people who are lucky enough to live and work in its granduer?
The small Redburn Cafe a short walk from the house was excellent value for a basic meal or a coffee.
This is what Highland hospitality is all about so go get some from Barbara and Ian!

We were so pleased to have had this b&b recommended to us! Barbara and Ian have built a modern house in a most peaceful setting. By night we listened to the ripple of the creek under our window, and in the morning breakfasted in a coservatory-like dining area watching the birds visit the feeders. Our room was upstairs, very comfortable. It is a great location along the way from Speyside and the Cairngorms and on the way to Skye. It gave us time to do a walk in Glen Affric the next day without rushing.

We had the pleasure to stay for six nights in this outstanding B&B. From the first minute to the last we felt at home and were treated by the extraordinarily friendly hosts Barbara & Ian like we were good friends or relatives. During the excellent breakfast we had interesting conversations with Barbara and learned a lot about Scotland and its culture. Also, we've been given helpful hints and advice about our planned trips around the Highlands.
The spacious room we stayed in was simply perfect. It was so flawlessly clean that it felt like we were the first visitors ever to stay in there. Also, the furnishing was just lovely up to every little detail. The window overlooks the beautiful garden with a small brook and many birds.
The B&B is located centrally in the Western Highlands. Although there is not too much in the immediate surroundings, you can reach many places like Loch Ness (incl. visitor's centre), Inverness, Eilean Donan Castle & the Isle of Skye all within a max. one-hour-drive.

All in all we enjoyed our stay very much, felt incredibly comfortable with our hosts and would like to give a 100% recommendation on this great B&B!

It was our first visit to the Highland.  My wife and I carefully reviewed all available B&Bs and picked Graineag B &B for a two nights stay on the way to the Isle of Skye.  Graineag is primely located with easy access to most attractions in the Highland. We had high expectation for the place and service after reading lots of good comments about Graineag.  Upon arrival,  we were welcome by Barbara, the cheerful lady who had been mentioned and highly endorsed by visitors.  When Barbara led us to our room,  we were impressed by the size and the homey deco of it.  The spacious bathroom with quality amenities was another nice surprise.  At  first sight, the place looked simple and basic, but when we were "living"there, details with hearts and thoughts could easily be found .  We felt being pampered.  Graineag  is not photogenic at all, the pictures on web can't serve to present the place's true beauty.  The cleanliness, the harmonious environment ,the caring hospitality of the owners made a wonderful stay for us, far better than what we had expected.

Graineag's secluded position, yet easily accessible from a main road, leads to a B&B worthy of Five stars.
From the moment Barbara welcomed us to the time we left, we were aware of being in a home where everything was conducive to fully refreshing us for our long journey home.
Our room was extremely spacious, tastefully decorated and had such a comfortable bed. There was even a totally silent small fridge in the room. The ensuite was very large and had a bath as well as a shower cubicle.
Barbara's warmth and willingness to take time out with us to chat, endeared her to us as well as to the other guests.
Needless to say, this B&B has been added to our list of excellent B&Bs.
Thank you Barbara.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at Graineag B&B while we were on a 2-week driving tour of Scotland. We stayed at some excellent B&Bs along the way, but Graineag stands out as the higlight. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and spacious, and its location in the countryside made for a truly relaxing retreat. Yet Graineag is centrally located on the A82, which made it possible for us to make day trips to both Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, and Barbara did a fantastic job accommodating my gluten allergy. But the real treat was getting to know Barbara and Ian. They're warm and gracious hosts, and Barbara is a font of knowledge of all things Highland. She took time out of her day to welcome us and help us plan an itinerary for our Isle of Skye trip, as well as chat about politics and sports. We look forward to our next stay at Graineag!
